It was over 2 1/2 years before I could even speak about it to anyone, outside of my minister. Some details I still can't discuss, just because it is too grotesque and as JustNormal can identify with, too painful to relive. So, having said all that, yes I believe there are proper ways of communicating, and in that way of thinking, proper ways to prepare yourself for what may or may not happen. Dabbling, just for the sake of kicks or seeing "what if" is a dangerous scenario. I was no novice when I went down that slippery slope and it still almost cost me my life. I still have to ask other's for their opinion and/or help when I get caught up in the search for evidence. It is too easy, to repeat the mistakes of the past. So, I have to have someone else put into clear view what I already know to be true.

(((TB))) You are totally correct my friend. Dabbling is just wrong no matter who chooses to mess with the occult even innocent kids fall prey to horrible dark happenings. Take care..JN

I was being led down that path. My neighbour was an older woman who took me under her wing. She started teaching me things, like sitting in the dark with acandle and calling on the spirits around us. I held a pen loosely in my hand and let whoener move my hand to answer our questions. Being 18, it seemed quite exciting. Then, when I saw her aura, I knew that she was evil, and was trying to draw me down that path. I freaked and stayed away from anything paranormal that I could. I tried to block everything out, it worked for a while, then things started coming back in, but I can send them away now.

JN,

You are so right. The hardest thing I think for people to realize, when they are caught up in this turmoil, is that the reprecussions are felt far beyond the person dabbling. Once a dark entity has been dealt with, it isn't like it is destroyed, and can turn to anyone in the home and/or family that is sees a way into. Another way they are effected is the powerlessness they feel. They have no idea how to go about even beginning to bring you out of the state of being that you are in. Now whether this be from lack of education and/or experience or fear, they can't help. This only adds to the horror of feeling alone in your terror. My first instinct, when things started to go horribly wrong, was to protect my family above myself, that is why I closed myself off from them. I did not want to the the avenue in which they could become victims. Some of my family still don't know the full extent of what went on, and I am going to keep it that way.

That just goes to show you how easily lines can be crossed. In this case this was someone you had no reason to mistrust, at first. Add that to the sense of adventure that presented itself, makes for a very volatile combination. I learned the hard way, that there is just somethings that is out of my control, and even now before I go into a investigation, it is only after I mentally and spiritually prepare myself. Even then, I have to have a preset exit strategy. I am not going to ever leave myself that vulnerable again.

Hi TB, very true words my friend. I have not told my family either, except my youngest son who stays here sometimes, because he saw things, heard them and was pushed against a wall and he is a big kid. I talk about it here, because its safe. I remember when it was going on I wondered IF it could read my words, and knew my thoughts, and I know now the answer is yes. But I had to tell someone, whether they believed it or not, I had to let it out, before I lost my little mind. Once we go head on with a Demonic, we cannot go back to our old habits that got us in trouble the first time, and must be on guard and vigilant and never open that door again, as it can return..JN

More true words have never been spoken. If anything good did come from the experience, it had to be I gained another level of respect for those who put themselves on the line, investigating. Since you are also a fan of Ghost Hunters, you will remember just how many times Grant has been attacked. And what about the cameraman at the Army Base, last season? He wasn't even investigating, just filming the program for the network.

Thankgod I never experianced anyhthing like that! During my investigations I have had feelings of bad energy where I had felt that I was not welcome. So I left. Of course during an investigation you have the feeling of uneasiness, but this is diffrent. I am sure you have had that feeling before. LOL. Just like TruBeleiver had said earlier. It upsets him, when during an investigation, the investigators dabble to provoke the spirits! It just isn't right! I sure and the heck don't want any Demonic spirit, or an angry spirit around me. If someone provokes a spirit they are asking for it. Sometimes it is beyond the persons control..when they are not asking for it and it just happens. Hauntings, and Possession,

V,

I agree. It makes me question the mental stability of the people doing the provoking. I mean to me that would be like going up to the school bully and asking him to punch your face in. Not a wise move in any circumstance.

Its been my experience that there is no need to provoke any spirit and if you do, seems it will be a negative one. When the first team of paranormal investigators were here, we did a seance with lots of prayer (hence my avatar which is real btw)..What was here would not talk to anyone, except tap on walls, one for yes two for no. So I talked to it (big mistake) but then I nearly passed out from the smell of ammonia and asked the team IF they smuggled in some smelling salts or something, it was overpowering and I didnt know what it meant till they told me. A few volunteers went outside and never came back and others sat in rooms, simply talking or meditating, and one got pushed off the bed..Interesting night TILL I realized what was here. In the full photo of the seance I have a black eye, bruising on right arm, and broken cheek bone, and KNEW I either broke my right shoulder or tore the rotator cuff, and cried alot, it hurt so bad. At the time I questioned myself as to whether this was real or I had totally lost my mind. If they hadnt come, I dont know where I would be today. I know now why it all happened but didnt then. So best to go in, directly speak to the spirit respectfully and keep it up, dont ask a question, talk and leave the area, or you can miss alot. Its a well known fact, spirits hide when teams come out, so you can bring them out, just not by ticking them off, that is an insult to them. I have human spirits here too, as we know, but they did not interact with the evil one, nor could they save me, they were just here to watch over me and still are..JN

JN,

Provoking, seems to me, to be a amateurish way of conducting an investigation. It seems to be a popular means by some. I think anytime you have a team go in, they should have an healthy respect, not only for the paranormal, but the owners of the home/property. I would hate to think that someone suffered, after I left an investigation, because of an Entity being provoked. I believe, sadly, that some investigators get so caught up in gaining proof that they forget about the human element. When they leave and go back to their homes and safety zone they leave a imprint of their investigation behind. I have found that negative behavior by an investigator does nothing but increase negative activity, whether the investigator is there to witness it or not.

I agree girl, you are correct. There is no need to provoke, unless they are that desperate for something to show themselves, and in that case, they do deserve what they get. Thing is, the investigators may provoke and malevolent or Demonic, then leave the homeowner with the aftermath, to fend for themselves. Some are just in it for the evidence, and they dont care about the poor people calling them in desperation. I remember the first time my Demonologist came out, IT did not show itself in any way, and I called it a coward OMG>.I dont know what made me say that, but I guess I wanted HIM and his team to see and feel what I did, but little did I know, they heard and saw it anyway. Calling it names, and provoking can be very dangerous. I had a Demonic Infestation and now can finally breathe a sigh of relief, but can never let my guard down. LOL Yes had that feeling before of like anxious, uneasy feeling and like someone is right beside me all the time. I felt like a hostage in my own home. NOT anymore..Be safe out there kiddo..JN

There is probably alot to learn from the dead and other entities. I want to know the most reliable way to summon the other side. I would like to learn from them and have been trying to find a real way for years. I have encountered spirits many times in my life. Through Ghost hunting and being Pegan I have contacted the dead briefly but am still looking for others ways. Can anyone here help me?

Demo,

There are several ways to make contact. The problem with making contact, is that alot of people view the portals as unstable, when they don't receive response. When in fact, you could have opened more than what you bargained for. I would like to know what steps you take in protecting yourself or other members of your team. Contacting through scientific means, conjuring or a combination of the two is risky business. But, in all investigations, I believe the one thing we need to remember is that time is not as relative to them as it is to us. I have often found the most rewarding experience are those that have come when least expected. Be careful in your pursuits. In any way you investigate, remember safey first.

See this I see as a dangerous situation. Not only are you putting yourself in harm's way but those that choose to be in an investigative party. Not only do you run the risk of encountering these entities at the locations being investigated, you run the risk of them following you or members of your party back to their home and virtually opening a supernatural "Pandora's Box". Even with Pagan and Wiccan beliefs there are measures that you can take to pray for protection. You still need to go thru the rite and ritual filling and surrounding yourself with the Light of Goodness.

I know how easy it is to fall prey and run headstrong in an investigation. Even after having a full scaled demonic confrontation/infestation, I was still willing to subject myself to the potential of having it all happen again. If it hadn't been for the concern of some true friends here, I would be knee and elbow deep in such an investigation now. It is too easy to be blinded by the "thrill of the hunt", as it were, and not see what disaster potentially may lay ahead.

My advice to you, is not to go into any further investigative realm without first having everything in place that you can to protect yourself and the one's that you care most about, not to mention, the one's cares about you.

You know the amount of Virgos that post here, I have often wondered if our astrological symbols have anything to do with the connections we make during an investigation. There sure seems to be a number of us.

What is your birthday, if you don't mind me asking...JN and I are both born on the 15th.
