I'm sure most of you know Sylvia Brown, the so called psychic who communicates with her Spirit Guide named Francine. Sylvia appears on Montel also... I believe that some people may have gifts but fortune telling is a thing I am skeptical about. Anyone want to express their personal views?

Also take note of more than her appearance on Montel and her "predictions" she has supposedly researched and recomposed gnostiscism to modern time. Althought her views on "mother god" tend to be favored by women lol, the teachings seem to be more fit for belief than common follow your vengeful god or go to hell teachings.

I kind of think that she has some psychic abilities, but that the fame has kind of gone to her head. I mean psychic or not, she's just human like the rest of us and unfortunatly most of her audience probably doesn't expect a psychic to be wrong about anything, so even if she is wrong about something, I've never seen her admit it.

So many people believe her and buy her books. Maybe her greatest power is that she is a master manipulator. I think she is a fraud. Although if I am flipping through the channels and I see her on Montel, I stop to see what she has to say. I always wonder if people are just pretending she is right because they don't want to humiliate her on television.

Just an interesting thing...she has her own church where she is the head of it.

This is why I want to go and be in the audience at Montel's show one day. I want to have her read me for some silly question or other and then see if she's right. And she better damn well hope she is, lol. Because I will not hesitate to call her out. Or actually just have enough money to pay her to read me or what not for like 2 hours. A two hour discussion with her.

It's $700 for a twenty to thirty minute reading where for the first half or so she tells you what angels and spirits from your past lives are around you (or at least this is what I've heard from a few people that have done it...the spirit thing, not the money thing, the money thing is actually on her web site.) Montel will probably be cheaper.

I think that if you did mange to get a reading on Montel and tell her she's not right and you don't believe her - it would be cut from the show. My feeling on this is that the Montel show shows you what they want.

She sells millions of books and charges people a lot of money for readings because grieving people can be desperate for answers - and she'll tell you what you want to hear. She just makes me sick and so does Montel for encouraging and giving her a modicum of credibility.

I wholeheartedly believe...that this woman is a fraud. A while ago I read about her past predictions for 2005 (I think) and which of them came true. A good majority of them were not even close. I don't remember if there was any follow up asking her about her inaccuracy, but I assume the answer would be something like, "The psychic winds were not in alignment."

I haven't heard anything from her. But I believe she's a big fake. So she's not legit.

I saw her book in Borders. But I didn't buy it.

I've watched about 15 episodes of Montel with her on it... she seems very arrogant and gives a lot of the same answers to people.

When I'm at Barnes & Noble, I noticed that it's pretty much women that buy the books, not one guy buys them.


Heck, there were 2 women one time that thought Brown was the greatest thing and then of course disses the other paranormal books as if Sylvia Brown's the only thing that be called New Age.

I almost felt like slapping them both.

haha lots of different views, i can explain why only women buy her books..... it's because she says there is a male and female god...i forgot what she calls the "women" god lol... but besides that most of her religion "gnosticism" (think i spelled it wrong) is what her spirit guide named Francine told her... but Sylvia says she researched everything that was said... I have to admit her theories sound better than other modern "religions" BUT!!!......because of what i see on montel, i really have to sit back and laugh...the way she answers just sounds like bull-loney.


I have also heard of her predictions being wrong about the Han..something kids... she told her parents that their kids were dead.....

One of the things that bothers me the most is that it seems like she just blurts out the first thing that comes to mind and is so matter-of-fact about it, she will actually argue with the audience when she is wrong (and Montel sticks up for her).

You know what's so messed up? Either Montel's really gullible or he's tottally in on it if she's an out and out fraud. But his show's are normally so damn great! He does help a lot of people. ;_; Bastich.

I've heard that he doesn't believe she has psychic powers but since she draws in so much money from advertisers, he would lose too much money to stop having her on the show.

That's kind of horrible. Do you think they ever get into any backstage fights about it? I heard they were really good friends.

I have no idea. To tell you the truth, just listening to her makes my skin crawl, so I can't image being friends with her. My guess is if he truly wants the money, he wouldn't start a fight for fear of having her walk out. It's not like she really needs that show...she has three shelves of books at Barnes & Nobles (I was there today and it was hard to look in the New Age section without her looking at me, haha).

I know, that poor woman was absolutely horrified, and devastated and he drowned? Then she shrugs off the fact they never found his body because "he went to the other side." LIKE that helps the woman? UGH

The only reason Montel keeps her on his show, is because some of her proceeds go to the MS Foundation and we know Montel has MS. Personally I dont watch him anymore due to his prompting her, and damage control once she screws something up..JN

See this I never knew. Hmmm...that kind of sucks but I know some people with ms to XD So I'm kind of happy.

He's supporting her conning people in a really despicable way, if he's supporting her for his MS foundation, that's really just plain wrong - in fact it's even worse, he's doing it for the wrong reasons, money instead of belief.

Some people need someone like this in life it gives them a sort of hope. Her "abilities" seem to help some people move along in there lives and such. Montell knows this and she does give money to foundations and such.

As what I think about her "abilities". I think she has something going on but I also think she lies as well. It seems to me she won't admit shes at a blank with certain questions and will just say anything. You can see it she stubborn and wont admit shes has nothing. But some of her answers she seems differ like she knows whats what and the person accounts for everything she saids. I forget what site this was a few years back they put most of her "predictions" together and she was almost 40% correct or whatever. I found that funny cause the average "psychic" was 20% right with "predictions" and the average joe less than 10%. Who knows this is the internet afterall

Absolutely, I agree with what you're saying - and I understand people's need to be told what they want to hear when they're desperate for some peace and comfort in their grief. But I have real difficulties with how she milks this, literally, I think some people do have the abilities she claims to have, but I don't think she does.

Well, as I'd said in my post above - I do believe people can be psychic, but I absolutely do not believe Sylvia Browne is. That's my opinion, which I'm entitled to.

I also believe in psychic abilities. I do believe Sylvia has little "abilitiy" but she also lies a lot and milks the most she can from her "gift". How can you tell whos a legit psychic, you believe whoever you believe or you don't.

OK - in my opinion, I don't believe that she can predict the future or talk to the dead. I do believe some people have this ability, but I don't think she does.
