Richland Township, Pa. - Police said two women dressed as ninjas were responsible for the hold-up of a Richland Township gas station Saturday morning using a samurai sword.
Police said the two women -- one with a dagger, and the other carrying the sword -- entered a gas station at about 3 a.m.
According to police, the women tied up the clerk and robbed the store of cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets.
They were all covered in black and carrying swords, so it did appear that they were dressed like ninjas," said Chief Robert Amman. "Swords, daggers could be used to seriously harm victims, so this is a very serious crime."

Quite an assortment of robbers out there lately! Guys in duct tape, guys dressed like trees, naked men in hats and now ninjas! Are they trying to out do each other or something? Just glad no one got hurt!

what is it with these people and their samuri swords and robberies, who knows, anyway i would rather be fighting someone with a sword instead of someone fighting with a gun, i find guns are quite cheap ways to rob somewhere with, really you point and pull a trigger there isnt much skill required to do that, now using a samuri sword, that would take a bit of skill not to cut someone or even yourself.

I'm kinda... Slightly... No I'm pretty sure that was the intention if the staff weren't good. That and they'd take you more seriously than if you went in with a spoon.

There was a guy going around Staten Island dressed as a ninja with a sword, going into houses and robbing people. I couldn't help but think how much I'd like to have had that guy even TRY to rob my house.

I think in this case, it is a mere act of fulfilling a dream of theirs. The fact that they made use of an art is a possible explanation, now that the practice is obselete.... they wanted to use their swords dammit!
