I watch the rat race, as the world goes by
With passive intervention, I pass a sigh
Awkward interactions remind me why
I've promised myself never to tell a lie
A kiss, a babe in arms, a drunken brawl
Some think they walk, but barely crawl
Those who catch others when they fall
All tread tentatively, towards a final call
For every bad deed there is also good
Dualities ingrained deep in our blood
Make it hard to see a tree in the wood
To see clearly, where blindness stood
An elderly couple pass by linking arms
A joy to see love expressed, with no qualms
A refreshing change from sirens & alarms
Or simply hiding away, behind some psalms
Some think worldly goods define success
The price they pay is relentless stress
Some judge others by how they dress
Better to get to know someone, than guess
Words exchanged are powerful tools
Devoid of thought, belong to fools
From the heart, are priceless jewels
With reason & truth, make wise rules
All the misery & suffering makes me cry
It makes me think, but by grace, there go I
I'm not that different, so I ask myself why
Wear a coat of self pity, while so many die?
The world rotates & life still goes on
Be joyful & happy before you're gone
From this life onwards to the next one
Release all your burdens & carry none!
