Hey guys...

Most of you know me by now, as I have posted some good topics here and there. For those who don't know me, well... I am the proud founder of a Paranormal Research Group called LIGHT. WE are located on Long Island, NY. We produce our very own radio show besides investigating the claims of haunted places. Now you can start interacting with LIGHT Paranormal Radio. Starting on episode #9 we are going to accept Emails for this particular episode. Episode #9 will be aired next Friday, or sometimes next weekend. No it isn't live, it is pre-recorded. We use the podcast system as we are listed on I-Tunes and Odeo. Since episode #1, the number of listeners have grown tremendously. ( When you are broadcasting on the web, its world wide! ) Anyhow... our next episode ( #9 ) is going to be about what I posted earlier because we thought it would make a great session for our next broadcast. It will be... why do skeptics get involved in the paranormal, what beliefs do they have? Since the topic on UM seems to interest a lot of people, we thought it would be an excellent topic on our show. If you guys want to participate, you can send us Emails regarding our topic. Give us your thoughts and opinions. I got permission from Um to ask, so I hope everyone accepts this invitation and sends us your Email. We'll be reading them on the air.

So I was listening to (I think ) this episode last night witch consisted of an interesting conversation between a couple of the lighthouse members and a couple of ladies discussing the history of the location(on location) and went on to discuss an EVP captured there....when the EVP was finally played I was in another room and rushed in to back up the audio ....witch in turn locked up my (home built) PC so bad I had to power down.....still haven't listened to the EVP in it's entirety ....I may do so tonight...and I noticed you have a new episode today as well....b

Long Island seems to have a long affiliation with the Paranormal.....I was recently doing some reading on a number of Poltergeist cases that coincided with a massive UFO flap during the early 70's. The area definitely is known for its anomalies.

I think it was during this period that the famous Princess Moon Owl was a regular feature on Long Island Radio stations; a woman who claimed she was from another planet. From what i recall she created quite a stir.

Actually she looked like a Jamaican Drag Queen (no joke).

In regards to your EVP's, just a few things leapt out at me. Firstly, the first mic test that was being done in someone's home (I'm not too sure who it was, one of the presenters) captured an EVP that sounded like a sped up voice saying 'Take a f'ing break". As soon as I heard it, my mind was cast back to several resource books i've read about strange and mysterious phone calls.

Anyone who has ever seen the film or read the book "The Mothman Prophecies" will know what I am talking about, during the UFO flap of 1966 - 1967 there were hundreds of recorded cases of strange phone calls. The messages didn't make sense and seemed like voices sped up on a tape, sometimes they were too fast and sometimes too slow.

Something I think coincides with the Phone Calls from the Dead phenomenon:

I think the thing that strikes me is that there is no indication that spirits operate on our time frame, perhaps to cope with a different reality they try the best they can to comprehend our physics....as a result sometimes the messages are garbled and are at different speeds.

In the book, Keel notes the particulars of a case where a man in a car was approached by by interdimensional entities. The confused entities (trying to make sense of their surroundings) simply ask the man in the car "What is your time cycle?" referring to what constitutes how we measure time. Several other strange people turned up in the town on Point Pleasant during the same period who were described as having 'Sing Songy" voices that raised and lowered in pitch rather like sped up tape recorders.

I just wonder if your recording has picked up a similar phenomenon.

As for Long Island, yep... everyone forgets about the history out here. We had a supposed UFO crash in South Haven Park, and Lake Ronkonkoma. We have Camp Hero in Montauk a.k.a. The Montuak Project... a.k.a. The Phildelphia Experiment. A rumor said Einstein worked there for the government brainwashing soldiers and marines who worked on the U.S.S. Eldridge that was apart of the so called time travel incident. It was originally an experiment where the navy was trying to come up with complete invisibility to radar, instead managed to make the entire ship disappear and it somehow moved to one area to another. However when it came back, the men on the ship were literally apart of the ship. I'm sure I don't have the whole story here, but that was generally what happened. Camp Hero in Montauk had something to do with it.

Then we have Mt. Misery & Sweet Hollow Road... lots of folklore, mainly. However the area dates back quite a bit. It's also had UFO sightings on the highest point of Long Island as well as a recent Mothman sighting.

Plus we are home to the infamous Amityville Horror!

We have many hauntings in our area due to the lengthy history we have in the french and indian war, and civil war...

I have been hellishly busy these last few days. I am going to give you a listening in the morning, I promise!

A matter of fact I picked up a similar phenomenon. You know when you press the record button on your cell phone it gradually moves up by percent? The EVP I led her back....was said twice. (I dunno why! it was weird!) The percent shot up too 100 percent within seconds even though the voice did not speed up. When I played the EVP for my friends they totally freaked.

Maybe give it a try by clicking on the link on the blog site. Let it load... depending on your internet connection it might load a little slow. But we juiced it up for it wouldn't be a long download.

I thought I was doing something wrong too, because nothing happened. But it was just loading... I let it load and it played fine on IE.

If none of that works, just keep trying different players. Other wise, I have no idea why it wouldn't work for you.

I think we have gained a lot of listeners because of our evidence that we talk about on the show. Unfortunately, we do not get EVP's all the time. We have collected them over time throughout our investigations. We try and play our best ones, because nobody can really hear Class D chattering unless its cool or worth hearing.

Our next episode will be aired by the end of the week. We'll be up to episode #9... We discuss our trip we had this past weekend to King's Park Psychiatric Center...

I've been studying the field since I was very young. I've been a Ghost Hunter for over 5 years, and LIGHT has been established for 2 years.

LIGHT has a pretty big portfolio regarding how many investigations we have had. Unfortunately most of the places we investigate request to remain anonymous. Plus those who don't, we keep private because of how high the competition is on Long Island in our field. Its pretty sad to do things that way, but other groups will be knocking on their front door any time they hear of a new place to investigate. Its happened to us a few times so we keep our clients private for now on.

I understand. Your site is really neat! I haven't Ghost Hunted as long as you. I would like to get more equipment. They are so expensive. I also need a team. I have only one person that comes with me now...lol.

Does Florida have a team? I'm not sure... if you visit TAPS Forums, they list some research groups from all kinds of states. What I would suggest is joining a group first, get your feet wet then start your own when you think you are ready. That's what I did.

Thanks for the compliment on the site. Its not quite done, I have a lot of updating to do... unfortunately life gets in the way sometimes.

Equipment does get expensive, but start out with the basics. A video camera with nightshot, a digital camera, a digital voice recorder, an EMF detector and a digital temperature thermometer.

You don't need to get crazy with equipment. Unless your going to invest into creating as large group or tackle on some investigations.

I have listened to some of your past shows. I find them to be truly informative. Do you air your show on a weekly basis only? If so, is it always on the weekend? Or are you going to air them at other times during the week? I would love to hear more about your research and findings. The episodes I have listened to so far have be quite interesting, to say the least!!!

Thanks for the kind words TB. We are going to try and do it on a weekly basis. Unfortunately "FREE" podcasts are not live. Not you in particular but our group has to pay a fee if we want to be live. Therefore it is pre-recorded. We are going to try and get them done early in the week and have new episodes up by the weekend.

I just wish I had more time to work on the site for it to be complete. In due time...

I'm glad its informative to you guys. We can take on all kind of criticism, so if anyone has any suggestions regarding future topics, or improvements. By all means!

We believe its an elderly man's voice... its not mine or our EVP specialist Mike, because neither of us are elderly! LOL... I am 30 and Mike is 40. We got the elderly voice in Gettysburg inside the hotel room we slept in. We think the hotel room we stayed in had paranormal activity. My arm was grabbed in my sleep... we saw numerous shadow figures and light anomalies. Gettysburg is like the ultimate place for paranormal activity. I just found it astonishing we slept in a haunted hotel and got an EVP in the room we stayed in.

My most fav EVP we ever recorded was the female Hello from the hotel on Long Island in their Library Room. I heard it in person when it happened. Mike didn't... I was shocked he didn't hear it because it came from inside the room as you can hear the ambience of the voice.
