Can you believe this??? No charges were filed..........crazy story so I would like too share it with all of my fellow members.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A laboratory technician has been fired after the parents of a 3-year-old boy claimed she bit his shoulder while drawing blood from his arm, a hospital spokesman said.

Faith Buntin took her son Victor to St. Vincent Hospital on Friday for a blood test because of recent recalls of toys involving lead. She said she saw the worker put her mouth on Victor's shoulder.

"I looked at her like that was the craziest thing that I'd ever seen," Faith Buntin told television station WRTV. "She looked at me and smiled and said, 'Oh, it was just a play bite. He's not hurt.'"

After they returned home, the boy's mother said, she saw teeth marks on his left shoulder, and her husband drove the child back to the hospital, where he was prescribed antibiotics.

"Taking a bite out of him like he's an apple, this is heinous," said James Buntin, the boy's father.

St. Vincent fired the technician after the incident was reported and is "reviewing the capabilities" of the employees of the subcontractor that does blood work for the hospital, spokesman Johnny Smith said.

"We're tying to determine the best approach," he said. "It's just an unfortunate and sad situation and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family."

No charges have been filed.

I've always wondered what they did with all that blood. lol . What possessed them to bite a kid though, it's pretty mad.
Veliska
Yeah it takes someone really sick in the head too do that. She must of been on drugs or mentally insane. What really got me is that no charges was filed..... huh.gif

I searched Snopes.com for both "bite" and "lab tech," and I could not find any articles even remotely resembling this. Could you possibly tell us the URL of the Snopes web page in which this article is featured? As a long-time reader of both the Snopes.com website and their forums, I have never heard of this.

I was a phlebotomist for over 10 years and I can honestly say that I never bit anyone!!!!! tongue.gif

There is something wrong with this woman. As a parent, if she had done this to my child, I think they would have been pressing charges against me after I got through with her. laugh.gif

BTW, here is a link to the article in the Indianapolis News.

This happened to my brother in law when he was a child. My Mother in law tells me that she collected him from nursery school, so he'd have been 3-4 years old, and the teacher explained that he'd bit her - so she bit him back.

I don't think my mother in law even complained, which is really unlike her. And we're only looking about 18 years ago, not the victorian times.

I'd have kicked off like there was no tomorrow I tell you.

I would be careful around her! This time a shoulder next time something that you actually need! grin2.gif

Wait, first they make it sound like it was just a little bite, no blood or anything else. But then they make it sound like she actually took a chunk of his skin? huh?? Why didn't the mother say anything when she saw doing it (if she did in fact took a piece of skin). Or in the case where she didn't, why would the kid need antibiotics?

Pretty much my exact sentiments.

Who the hell play bites a stranger's 3 year old son anyway? I mean, you don't know where that kid has been and you put it in your mouth??
Creepy_Steve
Jigga what!
I would've laid the smackdown on her candy ass.

Everyone is saying that they would hit the lady who bit their child. But think about it. Would you really hit someone who is holding a 4 inch needle stuck up your baby's arm? I hope not. That could cause much more damage to the child. You could cause the needle to puncture a vein or something. Plus then you would be facing assult charges for attacking the lady. The best thing for a traumatized child and especially one with autism is to remove them from the situation then take care of the crazy technician with the police. I hope she spends time in jail or at least a psych ward.
liam_sw
At my school, a science technician threw an apple at my friends face laugh.gif (On purpose)

But that doesn't compare to biting a three year child mellow.gif
nettysavalon
Now did the technician forget his lunchbox or is this another cannibal on the loose? huh.gif

Lol as soon as she took the needle out and set it down I'd grab it and go rabid on her.Charges or no charges.Well maybe I'd take the fight to another room though.Wouldn't wanna TRAUMATIZE the kid.
Orcseeker
a vamp or pedo? who is it?
Vovinam
hah so vampires are real!
wolfie_N_MI
Rather unprofessional behavior! It tells me that it's always good to be in the room with your children when they are receiving medical treatment. (Sometimes they want to take them in alone, saying the child is often calmer without the mother in the room.) Such as getting stitches and such...

There are just too many risks in leaving your child alone with strangers. Just because someone is supposed to be a professional doesn't mean they are trust worthy it seems?

WTF, she has issues!
