OMG i just dicovered Omega-3 fish oil!!!, the best thing since sliced bread!!!
Ok guys, i was watching a documentary on Omega-3 fish oil... i think it was called "can fish oil make your child smarter"

it advocated fish oil, made brain grown bigger (as brain was 30% made up of same fat as fish oil), decreased depression, thinning of the blood, less chance of stroke etc etc...

so i started to take it... i am now only on my 2nd week, and to my suprise the biggest change has been my acne outbreaks. My skin has improved at least 100%.

Before i started taking fish oil I didnt even know fish oil was good for acne, but i have since done research and it is a benifit for the skin and acne.

The fish oil i take has EPA and DHA. make sure the bottle says it has that.

a bit about me...

I have been suffering acne for over 15 years. have been on accutane 3 times already. it did work but each time it kept coming back after 6months. I thought i knew everything out there that was to know to help prevent acne.

my skin has never ever been better!!!

i am taking time to write this because i beleive it could help lots of people out there, as it is not well known.

you may not belive me, or doubt that my skin has gotten better, because i have read lots of post about miracle cures myself and have tried them but never has worked for me. most were external creams that attacked the pimple but does not address the reason for it occuring.

i suggest u go out and buy a bottle and try it out, u got nothing to lose, even if the fish oil dont clear up your acne, it still should be part of your diet as most peoples diet lack the suffiecent amounts of omega3.

SPF Omega-3? Forget the Sunscreen, Fish Oil Prevents Sunburn!
September 15, 2005 · Category: Cancer, Acne and Skin Health

In two separate studies, regular fish oil supplements were found to protect the skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun:

In just one month the volunteers were noticeably less likely to burn than before taking the oil, rising to 33 per cent less likely in three months.

A second group who suffered sun allergies doubled their skins’ defence against UV rays after six months.

Dr Lesley Rhodes, a dermatology expert, thinks it could have implications in preventing skin cancer, but should you ditch the sun block?

“It could have a very significant effect on skin cancer prevalence in the future

Scientists are unsure whether sunscreen prevents against melanoma, the deadliest type of skin cancer that accounts for more than 75 percent of skin cancer deaths. They suggest that sunscreen may prevent sunburn, but may fail to protect against cancer. Sunscreens are designed to absorb energy from ultraviolet light, however the energy may be transferred to the DNA in skin cells, which could cause problems.

I have taken fish oil for years. Its not some cure all. Its good for heart health.
It sure hasn't helped my bit of acne or eczema.

I've taken fish oil for years...but I have found that Krill Oil is far superior according to studies. I can really feel the difference.

CONCLUSIONS: The results of the present study demonstrate within high levels of confidence that krill oil is effective for the management of hyperlipidemia by significantly reducing total cholesterol, LDL, and triglycerides, and increasing HDL levels. At lower and equal doses, krill oil was significantly more effective than fish oil for the reduction of glucose, triglycerides, and LDL levels.PMID: 15656713 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE]

Omega 3 Fatty Acids are known to be sensitive to oxidation, however because nature provided Krill with many powerful antioxidants, Krill Oil is remarkably stable. In addition to its high omega 3 to omega 6 profile, Krill Oil contains a rich network of antioxidants including Vitamin E, all trans retinol Vitamin A, beta carotene and the carotenoid relatives, canthaxanthin and astaxanthin. These antioxidants work synergistically with other bioactive compounds in Krill Oil to support peak functioning of the brain, liver, skin, and other organs. One comprehensive study found astaxanthin to be extremely effective at quenching singlet oxygen radicals in membranes. (11) In another study, astaxanthin was approximately as effective as canthaxanthin and about 50% more effective than beta-carotene and zeaxanthin in preventing fatty acid peroxidation. (12) A research study performed at Tufts University in Boston found that when astaxanthin or canthaxanthin were added to rat liver microsomes, these antioxidants greatly inhibited radical-initiated lipid peroxidation, equal to that of alpha-tocopherol and to a greater extent than beta-carotene. (13). Astaxanthin has also been shown to protect LDL from oxidation. (1)

PMS Symptoms: Evidence has shown that phospholipids of the brain have an especially high content of the long-chain omega-3 fatty acid DHA, and that these phospholipid species are centrally involved in brain function. (44-46) The effectiveness of krill oil on emotional menstrual symptoms may thus be based on potential modulating effects on neurotransmitters that affect emotional and psychological symptoms. The synergistic effects of omega-3 fatty acids and phospholipids are specific to NKO since the solvent-based cold extraction process used to produce this oil maintains the integrity of the phospholipids. Processes for fish oil extraction can involve conditions that irrevocably damage certain components like phospholipids.

Conclusion

The final results of the present study suggest within a high level of confidence that krill oil can significantly reduce the physical and emotional symptoms related to premenstrual syndrome, and is significantly more effective for the management of dysmenorrhea and emotional premenstrual symptoms than fish oil. NKO has a unique biomolecular profile of phospholipids, omega-3 fatty acids, and diverse antioxidants that surpasses the usual fish oil profile. The association between phospholipids and long-chain omega-3 fatty acids highly facilitates the passage of fatty acid molecules through the intestinal wall, increasing their bioavailability, and ultimately improving the omega-3:omega-6 ratio. Furthermore, phospholipid molecules play a major role in membrane fluidity, which may in turn play an active role in the management of emotional symptoms. Findings from this trial raise the possibility that Neptune Krill Oil has a positive benefit to risk profile for PMS. (47)

I just eat lots of seafood. But then again I live 25 minutes from the ocean and my tribe are fishermen, clam diggers, oystermen and general seafood freaks.

I use Hemp Oil which has super omega 3's and super omega 6's. Its suppose to be far superior than Fish Oil. Suppose to help the arteries be more flexable and whatnots. At least give it a look in Googles and make your own judgement.
Fluffybunny
Definately agree it it good for you, bit it makes me sick to my stomach and the burps....oy...

I also found that fish oil seems to have an effect on my depression; but that is just me...

Fish oil does that to me as well...however, Krill oil will not, nor will it leave a fishy taste in your mouth. This is pretty much universal. It's the only marine oil that's FDA approved without a prescription. Source

It's also 48 times greater than Omega-3 fish oil & 34 times greater than Co Q-10.

I have to have the fish oil in the geletin capsules. I hate the taste of fish, except, I don't eat anything along with it... So the burps are really nasty.

So, if you see me making wierd faces as if I had just ate a salt cube... You know the real reason to it.

laugh.gif Then add some garlic capsules with it... sip a glass of wine... and then you'll at least smell as if you've been to a fine restaurant!!!
