My story brings me back from a fishing adventure, it was just turning to dusk so i packed up and started the long journey home alone. The drive home took me down long and lightless country lanes, only my headlights and a radio for company.
About twenty minutes into the drive i started getting the weirdest feeling i was not alone, i turned around atleast three times but nothing there? never the less i still felt i had company, it got so bad that i stopped using the rear view mirror by turning it down to face the dashboard, and turned the radio up real high.
this is the classic story/photo of the said same thing. backseat

I'll probably worsen my reputation as a pariah, but two things...

If you are a dope smoker, as you pointed out on another thread, then you might have encountered not a ghost, but a transient event of paranoia. My suggestion is to quit using drugs, You are just giving your money to criminals, and apparently the worse off for it.

Of course, I could be entirely mischaracterizing the entire matter. But, it was just a bit of healthy outlook I was trying to pass along.

Take care.

I had a similar experience, I was driving home after bar tending all night and I had a real creepy feeling that I wasn't alone... as it turned out I wasn't alone, a drunk had crawled in to the back seat of my car and passed out, so I pulled over and dragged him out of my car and left him laying along side the road.

People that do drugs don't realize how much they can affect you in many different ways. Good point.

Belil-I have had experiances before that I felt like someone was watching me or I was not alone. What made you adjust your rear veiw mirror down? I have noticed alot of people get freaked out by mirrors...you must of thought that whoever or whatever was in your car, it would show up in the mirror. I guess that would be freaky.

Something similar happened to me just a few months ago (May). I was driving to my Mom's house several miles away and the whole time I was driving I felt like someone was watching me. Thinking I was simply letting my very overactive imagination get away with me, I ignored it. When I got to Mom's house she met me at the door and said "tell your friend he can come in, too. I won't bite (a favorite saying of her's)." I said, "Momma, I came alone." She says "well then, who's in your car?" and I looked and sure enough, in my back seat was a man! If someone else had told me this I may have trouble believing but I saw this with my own eyes.

You gotta watch with that stuff. When i was on dope once i went to sleep and it felt like the room was getting smaller and going to crush me i could have sworn i seen it get smaller, it reallt scared me.

So what happened?
Was it just a human that hitched a ride in your back seat, or was it a specter that suddenly disappeared?
You don't say whether there was a reasonable or supernatural explanation for seeing the figure in the back seat.

I'm sorry. I guess I didn't finish it very well. I'm not entirely sure WHAT it was, but I don't see how it could have been a person. I have a two door car and without help folding the seats, the door handles can't be reached from the back seats. Any ideas?

I looked in that link, it scared the crap out of me when i saw the face! also i have had that feeling when walking in the house like somebody is only a few steps behind me.
Technopath
I used to live in this house where I always felt like someone was behind me when I was walking on the corridor, so I always ran on that corridor :S.

ditto. I can't go up my stairs (only the ones in my house, I'm fine with all other stairs haha) without looking behind me every few steps.

Fear and Paranoia are very contagious.

When you are alone, you tend to fill the "solitude" with noises, or your senses sharpen and you can start hearing/seeing things that are not actually there. That's the reason of why I NEVER read this forum at night, cause then I'll get scared!
Knuckles
you shouldn't be turning around while driving anyway, you could crash. then you would be the one sat in the back of a car, giving the driver an un-easy feeling so that he crashed.
