I thought that this question was kinda interesting I found this site when I was going to go the show (using Google) Unexplaind Mysteries website. (on UPN) And I came to this site at first I thought that this site was for the show. Until I found that Unexplaind Mysteries website e was so small!
Huh, anyway I love the site! It's really neat and I love the forums. I used to chat in the gallery, but soon find out that I think I responded in half of the gallery pictures! So I decided to chat in the forums. I kinda perfer the forums better much more and like hang out and chat about here then in the gallery. Not that I don't like the gallery it's just that I like the forums better. Oh and by the way I do have an outside life!
No serouisly I do!

I found this site from the advertisement previewing, while watching the Unexplained Mysteries TV show.
As I read many posts and articles off this site, I became ever-more interested in this site and its topics. This is a good place to talk about such paranormal stuff without being ridiculed by other people who think differently. Sure there are people in this forum who think differently, but they don't annoy you with their pestering and jokes.

...
What's wierd out there seems normal in here. Once you keep reading posts, articles, and editorials, about such unexplained mysteries or whatnots, it makes you feel better that you're not the only person who thinks differently from the "norm".

was researching vampires. Saw the Forum link and instantly feel in love with the place. It's wonderful to have a place where I can be myself; I find it a lot harder to do outside of cyberspace.

Well in Halloween 2001 Sci-Fi channel did a week long program called "The Mazehouse" which was supposed to be a live investigation into a haunted house. The website for the TV program boasted interactive maps supposedly showing live EMF readings all across the house, Webcams set in certain rooms, and even a SETI style screensaver to download to help out with number crunhing the'live' results. It also had a forum - unfortunetly a very badly laid out forum which was hard to read and search for unread threads. It soon became very apparent, to the bitter disappointment of the majoruty of forum members, that the proram was a hoax and prerecorded - and instead of being a scientific experiment it was infact a second rate Blair Witch Project. Due to the dreadful nature of the offical forum someone set up a yahoo group, and then a proper forum was set up - at first to discuss the TV program, then anything and everything paranormal.
I made a lot of friends on that forum (people like Celticwitch, Althalus, Dean-g, Crosis, Sheff_Pud, Crow, The_Devils_Advocate, Rog3D, Nessyk and ScaryD) and when after it disappeared late 2001 i set up a mailing list so everyone could keep in touch. Luckily approx a month after lossing our original home forum, Crow (IIRC) found this one and we all invaded on mass!
The rest is history

I found it when looking on the net for real ghost stories.
I have always been facinated by the paranormal and I truely believe that 'the truth is out there' and perhaps in here as well.
I have never been a member of a forum before, but this site is very addictive and once I started posting I felt so accepted that I just had to keep coming back for more.

I found this site via another site that was EVIL! People on there were really becoming mean....your post would get closed for no reason....you would not be told the reason your post was closed and if you gave them any lip you got to talk to the owners of the site. They ran off all the "big time" posters and anyone else they didn't like. In all honesty I was looking for a new place to come....then some idiot poster (on the other site) made a post saying that this site copied the one I was on. I thought yeah right - so I came to look and fell in love. This site is absolutely nothing like the other one! I am seriously glad I found this site because everyone from everywhere from any age can discuss in a constructive way. We dont' post trash most of the time most of our stuff pertains to actual substance not just the crap ie "oh my boyfriend broke up with me my lief is over" or " my best friend stole my man" though - if someone here has a problem - we are right there for them.

Love you guys!

I honestly can’t remember how I came across UM.
I think I might have been looking up info on the Enfield Poltergeist at the time. However before I registered I had read almost every thread on the forum, which shows you how much UM has grown since then!

I have a book called Unexplained Mysteries. It is very old and very interesting. I typed that into Yahoo! Canada and this site came up. I clicked on it, signed in and didn't really do anything more. I only came here to read the news articles. Finally, as I was looking around the site, I stumbled upon the forums. The rest, as the say, is history.
