Yo wat up people just thought ill'd share a wierd experience i had yesterday with a duck and welcome you to post your own whacky adventures with animals.

So anyway the other day, i was riding my push bike home, when i seen two ducks in front of me. One duck just flew up and to the left, but the other duck started flying fowards at a hieght level to my knees. I caught up to the duck and rode right along side it but it made no attempt to fly higher or in a opposite direction, it even didnt move when a put my hand out and patted it. the duck kept along side me for seriously over half a kilometer then all of a sudden just as i had reached the turn to my house it flew up and away.

I watched 2 turkey hens crossing the road from either side each with a clutch of chicks. One group of chicks did a U-turn and started following the other hen. The hen then turned around and started chasing the parade after she realized her chicks abandon her.
A bobcat left a deer with it's nose bitten off and the back of it's skull bitten out in a tree across the road from my house. It must have been old and senile for leaving a kill by the road.

I've had tons of strange animal experiences, and have the scars to prove it.

One particularly memorable experience was with a Florida softshell turtle which lived in a canal that snakes through the back of our house, whom I had named Dippet. Dippet was a rather peculiar character - I would throw bread-crumbs to him and he would peer at me, his pig-like snout poking above the water line like a snorkel.

One of the neighbors had called to tell me that he had seen Dippet in the middle of the road. Very odd. I went outside to check on him. This turtle was the size of a garbage can lid, dragging himself along the edge of the road. I saw a small gleam in his mouth - he had a fishhook sticking from his mouth. I grabbed him around the middle and carried him home.

My father drove us to the Humane Society, and along the way the turtle rested in a Tupperware bin in the back of the car with me. When we arrived, they took him around back to anesthetize him so they could remove the hook. We waited there for a fair bit, only to find that the reason it was taking so long was that it took three people to shove the ornery reptile into a gas box. The woman was amazed to find that I had carried the turtle without being bitten.

They popped the hook out quite easily once he had been subdued (it was just stuck in his mouth) and we took the turtle home to release him. The ride home was actually rather uneventful. Never saw the little bugger again.

midnight, rain pouring down, thundering, lightning striking all around me-
was in my vehicle 'bout mile from my place-on one lane remote road in mountains-
was passing a late 1800's baptist church and graveyard-
as i got even with the graveyard-in lightning flash-i see a dark glistening in road-
stopping i draw my .45 and get out -
was soaked instantly in storm as by headlights i crept to the shape-
where stretching all way across the road-big around as a man's arm-
was a pilot snake--a male copperhead--meanest, deadliest, most vicious snake they is-
man! he had been eating good!!!
i went right up to him and drew a bead on him--he layed stretched out looking at me--
thundering- -- lightning flashing----pounding rain......
our eyes meet...................i thumb safety back on--
in silent communication i 'told' him GO!! GO!! GO!!!
'you lucky was me'--
he raised his head to me.....flicked his tongue and slowly slithered right at me-
off road down a bank

I keep a couple of ratshot shells in the loops. A .45 bouncing off of wet asphalt is a little unpredictable...........

I live in NV and from '86 to '99 we lived up in a remote area (4wheel drive access only). There were about 4 or 5 herds of wild horses that lived up around that area and the spot where we lived was the valley they liked to drop their foals in the spring. We had horses of our own, that of course the mustang studs were always interested in. One day I went out and saw a battle scarred black stud standing out by one corral that a mare was in. You could tell by his long hooves and long tangled mane and tail, that he was an older horse. I would guess that he was a herd stallion that was ousted by a young stud. Anyway he hung around for a few days (horses don't like to be alone) and I saw him trying to reach through the fence to drink out of the trough. I got an idea, put some water in a bucket, set it out by the corral and went back into the house so he could come drink. He was thirsty so overcame his fear of the human smell on the bucket and drank. I did this every day for about 3 days, each day standing closer (second day retreating to the house but still in view, third day halfway to the corral, etc.). On the third or fourth day, I walked out with the bucket, kept holding it, but crouched down and sat very quiet. After a few mins of contemplation he walked up and stuck his head in the bucket to get a drink. I slowly lifted my hand and stroked his forehead. He jerked his head up, I froze and when I made no more threatening moves, finished his drink. He was gone the next day and I never saw him again, that I know of (lots of wild horses lived up that and they were always in the yard trying to steal my mares, lol). But that was for this long time horse lover, one of the greatest thrills of my life. original.gif

One night, it was damp and the sky was moody, raining and then stopping.

I remember everything was a deep purple, to say the least, the night was just plain strange.

So I was walking to edge of my boyfriends sleepy neighborhood when a bird(pigeon) I believe was following me. Let me tell you, pigeons walking behind you at night time in the rain is weird to begin with, as soon as I was at the end of another road, I heard crunching in the woods, loud loud walking, heavy steps. I hastened, when out of no where an old man pops out of the woods like it is a bright and shiny day, perfectly normal to be in the woods. "Hi there!!!" he said. I jumped and uttered a shocked "Hi" and kept walking, I turned around and he was gone, but the pigeon wasn't.

I figured the bird was nuts so I just didn't bother worrying about it until it flew past me and sat on some electrical wires. I was about 10 feet from being directly under the bird when it blasted into feather and it's body fell into a puddle. I gasped and ran over to it, but it was no longer there, just feathers falling and some floating in a few of the puddles near by. That night was pretty sketchy if you ask me.

*The bird was sitting on one single wire, you must be touching two to have the electricity go into the body and leave another way. So I know that that wasn't the case.

Another pretty weird experience was with a raccoon, a dead one I found while walking on the railroad tracks. It had no head, it was healed around the neck rim, for some grotesque reason I bent over an peered in, nothing seemed to be in the outer furry shell, it was just a dark whole in a perfectly clean outer carcase that didn't stink at all. (maggots? sure! But to have the entire outer body perfect and not stinky at all, weird!) unsure.gif

One morning when I was on a camping trip with some friends I woke up around 5:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. So I decided to take an early morning walk.

After going through some dense woods I wandered out into a field. The field had the densest imaginable fog up to my waist. The air above my waist was perfectly clear. I stood there marvelling at this effect for a few minutes. Then three male elk in an exact triangular formation emerged from the opposite side of the field. Two elk were flanking a central animal who was in front. The side animals had probably eight points on their antlers. They looked like royalty with crowns on. The central animal was so old his fur was grey. I have no idea how extensive his antlers were, but they were very beautiful.

The animals stood there staring at me for a few minutes and then calmly turned 180 degrees and walked away, still in formation.

It seemed like something you'd see in a vision.

I worked in a grocery store during the night shift. One morning when I was leaving a regular costumer was leaving. He was a sad man, he walk on crutches, one leg was missing at the hip. He came in and never spoke to anyone. If anyone said morning or offered help, he would just give a dirty look. I just left him alone. That morning I notice him take some bread out of bag and approach a flock of black birds. The flock flew away except one bird. The one legged bird eyed the man on the crutches carefully as the man approached him. The man tossed the bird the bread and it ate occasionally looking at the man. When the man turned to leave the bird took some bread and flew off. The next time I saw the man I mention the bird and he gave me big smile and we talked a bit. I would have given anything to have had a photo of that.
