Here is a link to the USAF Roswell report:

http://www.af.mil/library/roswell/

They go on to discribe events that happened at Roswell, represented to have occurred in two or three days in July 1947.

Of particular interest is what they discribe:

The conclusions are:
Air Force activities which occurred over a period of many years have been consolidated and are now represented to have occurred in two or three days in July 1947.
(in this statement they are trying to say that the 1947 Roswell incident occured over many years)

"Aliens" observed in the New Mexico desert were actually anthropomorphic test dummies that were carried aloft by U.S. Air Force high altitude balloons for scientific research.

The "unusual" military activities in the New Mexico desert were high altitude research balloon launch and recovery operations. Reports of military units that always seemed to arrive shortly after the crash of a flying saucer to retrieve the saucer and "crew," were actually accurate descriptions of Air Force personnel engaged in anthropomorphic dummy recovery operations.

Claims of "alien bodies" at the Roswell Army Air Field hospital were most likely a combination of two separate incidents:
  1. ) a 1956 KC-97 aircraft accident in which 11 Air Force members lost their lives; and,
  2. ) a 1959 manned balloon mishap in which two Air Force pilots were injured.
...my POV...well if the event occured in 1947, why are they saying that people killed and injured in 1956 and in 1959 are what witnesses seen in 1947?

Does anyone else find this just a little bit strange?

Does anyone know if there were any witness statements or witnesses still alive that saw the bodies at Roswell in 1947?

The Air Force's Roswell Reports are nothing more than sources of disinformation.

The military personnel who conjured up those reports were probably ROFL all day long, probably all week, after finding there were people who actually took their reports as factual without question.

This whole account in its entirety has been diluted to the point were I have given up on it completely. Probably exactly what the government has hoped for.

Yep.. you got it. My thoughts exactly.
Alienated Being
The government really sucks at covering things up. It's nothing new.

From what I understand it was a parachute program that lasted from the late 40's up until the mid 50's. The name escapes me at the moment, i'll try and dig it up...

However people are not looking at the topic 4th Dimensonally....the article is saying that stories and incidents that occured in the 1950's have somehow been infused into the Roswell story...a story that has been stewing in its own juices now for 60 years.

Much like a game of chinese whispers, somewhere along the line a new twist was thrown in.

I find it highly unlikely, however there are numerous reports that come from Roswell that are just plain silly. For the most part I overlook Roswell, primarily because it's become too tainted with popular culture and has become hard to validate real eyewitness accounts with nutjobs...

Now Shag Harbor is far more interesting, and can be supported with primary photgraphic evidence eyewitness accounts from the RCMP.

roswell is an example of an effective disinformation campiagn. the truth has been hid behind so many lies that it turned the truth INTO lies. Shag harbour do tell!

That can also be true as well.

As for Shag Harbor, its hard to find an internet site that doesn't have patchy information. I would suggest reading up on the subject in an older case book. Esentially it was a supposed UFO crash into the waters of Shag Harbor in Nova Scotia...however the event was reported by the RCMP and dozens of eyewitnesses...

It was orginally thought to be a plane crash, until they town watched yellow lights operating and moving beneath the surface of the water.
Stixxman
yeah the lights would put me off the regular explanations. thanks
