how would you guys suggest organizing a team. I have been doing research off and on for the past five years, but I never really had anybody to help me with it.

Hey Silverwolf. A team of what? You may wanna be more clear ... I assume you're talkin about a ghost investigating team right. Maybe you should clearify ... there are lots of ppl to help you here.

Where are you needing investigators? My cousin and I would join you if you are in Florida...or maybe somewhere closer.

Veliska,
You know I am not too far from you in location. I live just on the GA/TN border. I could see it being quite feasible at some point to collaborate and combine efforts in an attempt to investigate. I am not saying this can happen tomorrow, but it may be something we could work towards. Perhaps something centrally located in which a small road trip wouldn't be out of the question !!??!!
Silverwood,
I believe it is something that is completely doable....If given the time for all parties to properly prepare.

^ You ever hear of Fort Oglethorpe, GA?
It's right outside of Chattanooga, TN. That's where I'm from!

I would suggest putting out an ad in your local paper? Or place an ad on the internet? Be careful with how you meet people though. Start with interviews and then judge from there. That's how I began. However, I would reccomend joining a group first to get your feet wet before starting your own thing. Get some experience working with others. I know you've been in the field for a while not doubting your knowledge, but gaining experience with others would help you out. That's how I started. I joined a group first, and learned what I needed to learn how to start my own thing. Then after a while I left and did my own thing. The people who volunteered in my group were people I already met. Our group specifically prefers to meet people through people we already know. Its safer, and you can get a vibe from them right away whether it would be a good fit or not.
Everything else will come on its own. Methods, techniques... equipment. It takes time for all that to clique. Have patience with your members and putting a group together. Trust me... it works.

I know where Ft Oglethorpe is...I was just there yesterday as a matter of fact. Then you know exactly where Apison is located at the end of East Brainerd Rd.

Oh yeah! I know exactly where that is!
I don't live there now, but all my relatives do! My hubby's in the military and we're stationed in Arkansas currently. I go back to Chattanooga several times a year tho.
