The Italian government is handing out grants to help mummys' boys leave home.

The move comes after economists warned almost 60% of young adult Italians stayed at home and were not marrying, having children or building up homes of their own.

Economy Minister Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa says part of a two billion euro provision in the 2008 state budget will be used to help young people move out of family homes.

He said: "Let's get these big babies out of the home. We're encouraging young people to leave home.

"If they don't, they just stay with their parents, they don't get married and they don't become independent. This is an important idea."

Problem is, when they decide to move on..or a female comes into the picture - whoo, someone is getting the evil eye from mama.

I agree with Pandy...And if the Italian couch potato didn't bring home an Italian girl, then his mother would put the malorky (evil, evil spell) on her.... original.gif

laugh.gif And my hubby,s mother couldn,t push him down the isle fast enough! She kept pestering him saying; So when are ya gonna ask her already? When he said as soon as i,ve got enough money to get her a ring, she ran to her jewlery box and gave him hers and told him to hurry up and ask, and he could buy me my own later after we were married! Boy did she ever want him outta the house and securly locked into marriage so he couldn,t come back home! laugh.gif
