Well, for awhile now i've been wondering the truth about the alien ufo subject and trying to get through the good stuff and the crap. Reading people's opinion's and other people's idea's and stories. For awhile now, i have to admit my obsession with the subject has increased and i tend to annoy those around me because, lately, that's all i have been talking about. Since my research is limited, and i tend to be stubborn when a answer does come to me. Does anyone on here know were i'm coming from? Does anyone have any advice to make my not to obsessed over it? and listen to whatever answer does come? thanks!

It's not an uncommon thing...
my suggestion is, embrace it. Take a keen interest in the older case files too, look through your local library for resources (most are an untapped goldmine) and at all times remain open minded in your research.
Just remember that staying 'open minded' is allowing yourself to be open to what both believers and what skeptics say.
For a while I had a burning desire to know everything about the field myself, but after a while I realised that I was coming to so many dead ends and so many conflicting arguments and accounts that I now no longer know what to believe.
I know people are seeing what they claim to see, but I think it is being misinterpreted incorrectly.

I understand, it is frustrating as hell, when all i have is the internet. I don't have the resources like stanton friedman has, or the intelligence kenny young had in his short career of researching. I still were i'll be going to get the truth, i came up with the idea of trying to get above top secret acess in the government. But they really need to trust you, and you really have to be a smart person to go that high. My agenda is to find the info myself, but not tell anyone. Maybe slip secrets, of those willing to learn the truth but not spill the beans. I get like this to with other things, like psychic research. I've heard stories from my mom, like how a lady knew things about my mom and the lady had never met my mom before. And a creepy lady who was attracted to crows and had a tendancy torward the psychic. And one story of how my dog started barking, my mom heard a car come up the driveway and footsteps in the house. In reality no one was there, my dad came home though about 10-20 minutes later. But everywere i go on the net it always points to aliens, psychic phenomena, life after death, and other things are totally not true and are mere wives tales. Sometimes to, i feel toally hopeless.

Yea... I'm sort of in the same boat. I am currently reading an e-book about a man who has actually communicated with aliens (i believe he posted it on these forums a while back), and although he writes about some incredible stuff, I am still having a hard time believing that what I'm reading came from actual "aliens". Another recent radio show interviewed a man who apparently met face to face with a group of alien "whites" and gained all kinds of crazy knowledge about their crafts and what not. And of course here I am, listening to this old (obviously knowledgeable) man talk for an hour and a half about his daily interactions with these ETs.
I guess the point I'm trying to get at is why would some people go out of their ways to write a book (a free one for that matter) or talk for an hour and a half on a radio show about something they fabricated? I personally don't think many people would do that, and yet I question whether or not what I'm hearing is the truth.
I'm confused.

Questioning is good. Totally blocking and closing your mind to other possibilities is bad. Remain skeptical, but open. And above all, draw your own conclusions without lieing to yourself. I see alot of that. It goes on so long that soon people have actually convinced themselves.

What the others said. Remember also that this is a subject that can carry validity in one's own interpretations as well as those of others, as many sightings and "messages" seem to be directed as much towards the experiencers as the people around them. There have even been cases where people conducted experiments and projected their own thoughts towards UFOs and these responded. In other words, what you come up with on your own, as long as it's well thought out and comes directly from your heart rather than someone else's superimposed beliefs or opinions, has as much clout as that of the "experts". Nosce Te Ipsum.

By the way...

Technically that last part means that it was perfectly interpreted.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Sometimes I am thankfull because if aliens didn't crash at roswell i wouldn't be bummed out. But my belief in life in the universe and elsewere would continue. I am slowly starting to become a little skeptical, but with open mindedness. I'm trying to exercise that as much as I can. Thanks again!

I can relate.
My sudden curiosity occurred when people I knew (not personally but enough to know they are respected in our community) seen some interesting objects floating above them (the size of train cars).
Then to top it off was the sighting in Kelowna (very close to where I live).
The thing is, even when I see what could be 100% real video of a UFO, you always have that "its gotta be fake" in the back of your mind.
The only REAL proof is when you see it for yourself (and even if you do catch that moment on video, people are going to disbelieve because of the ability to fake this stuff on video)
I hope to see one, always keeping an eye to the sky, you never know how many times you might have missed the chance of seeing one.
