Hi there, sorry to be a nuisance, I know I posted about this recently but other people manage to get large photos uploaded without any problem. Whenever I try to upload a photo it tells me it's too big, so I reduce it down and when I post it it's got a large black frame around it. But people are posting photos way larger than mine, mine end up really small before I'm allowed to post them?

I'm sure the fault is with me, but have you got any ideas please?

Not pixels big, but file size big. When you shrink the picture, it's file size also shrinks to less kilobyes. The page shows me you can't upload pictures bigger then 250kb's in size, so you were most likely exceeding the file size requirements as I don't see a message for pixel size on that same page.

It's also possible that the pictures you see being linked are actually hosted from off-site sources. If you simply upload a picture onto this site, the size restrictions kick in to keep our bandwidth usage down. You could try uploading your pictures to a file hosting site such as PHOTOBUCKET, and then from there you can link the photos here using our Image tags - they look like this:

Which then comes out looking like this:

It takes up none of our bandwidth because it's being hosted on another site, and therefore size is immaterial. However, if the image is so big that it distorts the page, don't be surprised if a moderator removes it to make the page more readable. Hope this helps you, Regency thumbsup.gif
