A 10-week-old kitten has survived a spin in a washing machine.

Molly was saved when her owner, 11-year-old Bethany Hall, saw her through the washing machine door at her home.

Bethany's mother Sonia Hall, said: "I was in a state of panic when I saw her, but thankfully we have one of those machines that switches off easily.

"When we were finally able to open the door and move away the laundry she seemed OK as she was sitting up and meowing, but her eyes were closed."

Molly was taken to the Prince Bishop Veterinary Hospital in nearby Leadgate.

The whole family think she's really special and a very lucky little kitten.

Reminds me of those old cartoons. You know the one with the tough bulldog who becomes a softy for the kitten? I could just see that bulldog going spastic because he thought he accidentally killed him.

Check your laundry basket if you have small animals. That's a given. I'm always finding the 'pocket' poodle I inherited from my grandmom in mine.

mind doesnt open unless its finished and the only way you can open it any earlier is by stopping it then putting it on drain......good thing i dnt have a cat
