How come ghosts act strangely such as knocking on things terrorizing people, break things, levitate people, scratch on the walls?

I would say first of all they are dead, so with that said, they cannot act normal. If there is an entity that breaks things, scratches on the walls and makes people levitate, that is not your average ghost but a non human one. JN

That might be the only way they can get out attention.

It's also possible they don't perceive our world the way we do. They may not know they are doing such things.

Or perhaps, they're not even trying to get our attention, in the first place. Most things are caused by accident. And yes, I believe that "they (or most) don't perceive our world the way we do" because they cannot see our material world in concrete way, especially since they are in another dimension (even though they are part of this Material Plane as well), for the most part. Although, there are entities who could break through the dimensional barriers. These energies are fierce, indeed. Some people call them demons, or angels, depending on one's business dealings with them.

Perhaps in extremely RARE case(s)..., but I highly doubt that. Just a thought.




Some people believe that there are "rules to the game" in the Ethereal World, more strict than this Material World. What people experience here on Earth are basically the Earthbound entities. For one reason or another, they didn't pass through the Light, and they're acting out the consequences of not passing through the Light.

Not all ghosts do this.

Poltergeists do this, and not every ghost is a poltergeist. A lot of the hauntings and spirits that are reports are just simple sightings and such. My point is that not every haunting is as you have described so don't get confused about that.

Lets say you have no body, but you can knock on things or move objects. Everyone who is living is ignoring you. What would you do? I would probably knock things off shelves and make noises to get attention (giggle)

What I wanna know is, why do apparitions always run away when ghost hunters see one? Anytime you get close they turn and run away and eventually disapparate. I have yet to see any footage of a ghost that will stick around and let us get close to it.

LOL It is said, spirits are known to "hide" when investigators arrive. I believe they choose who they want to see them and who they dont. Thats why provoking them in a harsh way is not only disrespectful but they hide even deeper. I feel they are at a location because of the home, land or family, not for ones who make them feel threatened and exposed. Lastly "maybe" they fear being sent back to where they belong and they dont want to go. Of course all this is sheer speculation. I mean they show up in photos, but many cannot see them with the naked eye, so that has to tell you something. I dunno, thats all I got LOL..JN

yea, i believe they dont see our world the way we do. its even a possibility that they think they are alive, and see us as ghosts, thats why they would run away. if i saw something trying to get close to me, and i didnt know what it was, my first reaction would be to get myself out of any danger, which means... run away.

There is no way any of us can answer that, because we are alive. I would think the answer is NO, but that is sheer speculation. JN

Here are a couple theories that come to mind immeidately :

1. Who says they were normal humans? Maybe they aren't human at all...
2. Perhaps dying has a tendency to drive people insane and therefore they act out.
3. Maybe to them they are acting normally and it is only when their interactions with our reality meet that it seems strange.
