Ok, i have noticed something every now and then i have a dream, a few days or weeks later the same thing happens in real life.
Is it possible that some dreams tell the future. Has anyone else had simular expericances. Hope this is the right place for this topic lol

I have no idea what it is but I get these every now and then as well. I started noticing it a few years ago and yes I think some dreams tell the future.

I get these every now & then too. It's kind of weird that happens though. Well, now you'll know what you'll be doing the next day, sort of. wiggle.gif

Yeah, I do believe some dreams might be about things and small bits of them...mean stuff..
Hence why we interpret dreams.
Things we dream about could totally be percieved different ways.
But I feel some people do dream about the future...

It's basically just a really strong form of deja vu. Thing is most of the time, you forget the dream until it presents itself again in real life. Most people just shrug it off like...man, that was weird. But I actually had a case of a deja vu that I proved it.
Late one night while playing drinking games with some friends, a deja vu kicked in (I started to get that feeling I'd done it before). We were playing a game where you guess what the next card in the deck will be. Well I mentioned that I'd had a deja vu about this. My buddies just kinda giggled and said, "That's great, what's your guess." In which I replied, "Well in the dream I picked a 7, but it was really an 8." When the guy with the deck looked at the card he got wide-eyed like I've never seen before. Eight it was.

That's my proof of dreaming of the future. And if anyone doesn't believe me I'll get the phone number of 2 guys who were playing drinking games with me and saw it tongue.gif

I believe you because that's what happens to me. I get the strangest feeling too when it happens and people usually get freaked out when I describe exactly what is going to happen, and it happens. I have started to write down my dreams when I wake up so I can have some sort of reference to look back on when these moments arise. Not sure what causes them but it sure is interesting especially when other people are experiencing the same thing you are.

It doesn't happen often but when it does, I like most people just shrug it off.
I agree with Crovus that it's a stronger/different form of deja vu. I think it's a good idea
to write down your dreams when you wake, could be an interesting exercise especially
if it's happening on a regular basis.

This happens to me all the time or used to. I've been busy lately so my dreams have been low in numbers sad.gif.

Anyway, It was mentioned in Big Fish when I watched it a few days ago, which got me interested again.

My theory consisted of the subconscious being able to put together a scenario of what could happen "in the future". Thus, subconsciously you will probably end up doing it without notice.

Then I remember reading Slaughterhouse five from Kurt Vonnegut. Somewhere in the beginning theres mention of a friend who says he was abducted, and the abductors could see 4 dimensions instead of 3. They also looked at time as moments whenever; and that we humans can only see forward and what has happened is the past. They see it as present with no future or past, just observers of a cluster of moments.

So it brings a far off idea that based on whats already happened, many scenarios could be presented to happen in the future, but inevitably those currents of events could have led to that and only that occurrence.

Hm.. maybe that didn't make any sense. I need my cup of coffee!

happens to me sometimes too....I think it's mostly to do with the way we asociate things, if somthing happens in real life that reminds them of a dream they had, we tend to try and link them together to make some sence out of them.

Dreams do not tell the future. They are simply random firing of neurons in your brain. Maybe, the dreams show something you subconsciously WANT to do (eg, go skiing), but you do not consciously realize this. A few weeks later, you ask your friends to go skiing with you, hence fulfilling you dream (or your friend relapses you want to go skiing either by hearing you talk about the dream or he/she can also subconsciously realize it)..

^lol.

I think the answer lies with deja vu really. Dreams are neurons firing so..memory is too. I think it's just these malfunctioning (I am not scientifically adept enough to know the specific word here) and generating the sense of deja vu. I very often dream things that were pertinent the day before (in the typical nonsensical dream fashion of course).
