Because I liked the idea of Jules22871's post "Are pictures real proof?" I want to continue with it.

My idea for this thread, is for people to post their own pics (or pics from investigations), that could be construed as paranormal, but actually have a perfectly logical explanation.
I think it would be very educational for people who are new to paranormal investigations, or people who've taken a picture that they just can't explain and are looking for an answer. As many paranormal investigators as we have posting here, surely some of them have pics that were eventually explained. thumbsup.gif

Mist pictures have always fascinated me. I've always thought that they were smoke or breath.
Here's a mist pic of my own taken inside a cave. No one was smoking. But I'm pretty sure we were all breathing. wink2.gif

Picture taken within a minute after this one.

Notice the big cool-looking dude on the left.

This cavern stays a steady 60 degrees F, but it has a river running through it and everything in there was wet.
The mist on the first pic is just that, mist, from the humidity inside the cavern.

Here's an interesting pic taken in the same place.

At first I thought that this was a flashlight beam shining on the ceiling but then I remembered cleaning the lense on my camera because of the water dripping from the ceiling. This is most likely a water droplet on the lense of the camera. Or it could just be a big blue orb. wink2.gif

See where I'm going with this. I have lots of them, and I'll post them eventually but,
I would really love to see more pics from others with explanations of what they are.
I'm about to start investigating some places and I really need to see pics that seem paranormal but have a logical explanation, for comparison.
Thanks! in advance!

Finger in front of the flash, these pics amuse me.

Sun flare. Although this dog did die the day after this pic was taken.

His name was JoJo, next door neighbors dog, he was very polite.

Anybody have any to add?

No but very good pics. The finger in front of the lens that portrays a shadow is excellent

Thanks Enjay! I've got more of those. However, the finger is not in front of the lens, it is in front of the flash. Big difference! Sorry. blush.gif

This one is in a cemetery, the weird light to the left is my son holding a flashlight so that I can get pics. The two orange lights are street lights with a long exposure time.

This looks like a figure peeking from behind a gravestone.

Truth is it was a garbage can. Look from another angle.

I'll catch some slack for that one! sad.gif

I only mentioned it because I went through a huge argument with someone, who insisted their pics were demonic and something about a thumb in front of the lens, I don't know, just thought I should clarify for future viewers is all. wink2.gif

Yeah, often people just want to believe and have no room for skepticism. They will swear up and down the picture is authentic which often leads to a pretty meaningless thread in the long run.

It is really quite simple.

Pictures are proof if the objects seen were also seen with the naked eye and cannot be explained by any other phenomena.

Can a person lie? sure. For photos on these forums done by random people that you cannot necessarily trust, you either believe them or you don't. It is a leap of faith. That is why your reputation is everything when posting pictures here and claiming they are paranormal.

I tend to dismiss anything that cannot be seen with the naked eye. All the good stuff such as apparitions and such can always be seen with our own peepers ;-)

I'll have to disagree with you there Girl in Black, I really don't pay much attention to reputation when viewing pics. I've noticed during the last 10 years that most of the really authentic pics come from noobs, who are just passing through with a question about a pic. I belong to several forums, some of which will tear a picture apart limb from limb. It's kinda messy. wink2.gif Most of the time, the one's left standing are the ones taken by some random person with 2 posts, who knows nothing about the paranormal.

That being said, if I told you that I could see that mist in the very first picture with my naked eye would that make it an apparition? or paranormal? No, it would still be humidity or mist, whether I saw it or not. thumbsup.gif

It'll have to be sweet tea, cause that's all I've got. Besides beer. grin2.gif

Nothing beats southern sweet tea. I put like 2 cups of sugar in a pitcher of tea lol

When I put up the thread about the pics I took at the Polk County Museum I was kinda afraid to post it, but now I am glad I did because I had some helpful information about it. OMG if someone was bashing me that wouls stink because I rather have someone give me a logical explanation...some couldn't...lol. Than someone jumping on me saying this pic is fake! Or you are crazy...there is no such thing. Plus pics like Jules and yourself does help. So thanks for posting. thumbsup.gif (oh by the way I am going next Monday to take pics from inside the building) Woo Hoo

Thanks Jennie!! Even if I don't see anything I will still post them. Maybe someone else could see something or can analize the photos. By the way...this thread does come in handy when I see strange things in photos I can compare
