Ok, theres been things thats happened. I've felt a tug on my shirt in the back storage room and no one was in there w/me. Cups have fallen by themselves. both me and others have thought we've seen people in the store after close with no one else around. theres been more, i just cant remember at this time. But today, the small drawer on the safe, someone broke the faceplate to it off on accident earlier, then today after close, it was me and the manager there left. i was mopping by myself and i saw the drawer faceplate thing not just fall off, but i SAW it being pulled back as if someone was pulling it back but no one was there. I was seeing it as it was happening. if it just simply fell, it would fall down, i saw it being pulled back, then fell.

*I'll update on other things that have happened as soon as i can remember them all*

Oh yeah i remember one more thing. After close one night, it was only me and one other person. He was in the back room, and i was mopping. I heard the bathroom door shut and no one else was in the place.

What kind of place do you work at?

Sounds like there is a possibility you have a little Poltegeist messing hanging around. Do you happen to know the history of the business, or land? In otherwords, did a previous owner or employee pass on at some point? Try taking some photos at closing too, and see what you might get..JN

LOL Spirits seem to shock and scare us because they can come out of nowhere. But remember, a human spirit cannot harm you. Human beings are the dangerous ones out there..JN

Cool.

A place I worked at a couple of years ago we constantly had problems with the computers, POS terminals and power supplies. We replaced them many times when I was there. Still had problems. We had electricians, electrical engineers, even the local power company in many times. They couldn't find anything wrong with the internal or external wiring, the electric flow etc.

The long-timers said the place had been built on an ancient indian burrial ground. I thought they were only joking but.....

Hi Shadow09,
It makes your pulse race doesn't it, when you actually see it happening. Congratulations on witnessing the paranormal. You will find quite a few of us here on this excellent site, with stories just like that one. Some of them unfortunately have been unpleasant and have had to get help to bring piece to there lives, but this sounds like a former employee still doing there rounds. Keep us posted and keep your nerve, as Just Normal says, it's unlikely you would be harmed and enjoy the moment.
You are being allowed to see one of nature's secrets!

Cheers.

There were a couple of weird things happening at my workplace too. One morning when I got to my job, I was the first one there and I saw a shadow like figure move behind a glass door, but that door was locked(manager office) and another morning I found water all over the floor, that seemed to came out of nowhere.

Just as JN said it seems you have a poltergeist. If you pay attention to it it should stay calm but continue doing its thing, but if you ignore it it will get angry and start to do more extreme things like throwing objects.

Certainly makes work more interesting, doesn't it? I worked in an interactive children's science museum in the downtown of my hometown for about 4 years and we had many things going on there. It was situated and what was the front lines during the Civil War Battle - The Battle of Springfield. It used to be a brick factory and a vaudeville theater.
Every night when we closed we would pick up all the exhibits, turn off all the computer including the volume control. About 3 times a week I would come in in the morning and turn on the computers in the lobby and the volume controls would be on full blast - we never kept the volumes at that level. There were a few instances when we came in to find some of the exhibit areas we had picked up were trashed - magnets back up on the magnet board, clothes in the puppet theater thrown all over the place one time one of the princess dresses was hanging from the rafters about 15 feet up. We would hear footsteps up on the third floor when no one was up there, the paging system would activate by itself sometimes and one time we ALL heard the paging system come on and breathing, we bolted upstairs to see if anyone was there and of course, there wasn't. The elevators would go up and down between floors with no one in them. Up to the third floor, doors open and close, down to the first floor doors open and stay that way for awhile and then close and on back up. We would turn off lights come back down and they would be one again. I got to the point where I couldn't shut down the third floor by myself, I got way too creeped out because when you turned out the lights up there it was dark, dark, dark and there were way too many noises. I came to work one morning to find one of the lab girls sitting outside. She said she had come in early to work in the lab and she kept hearing someone running around on the third floor, eventhough the gate was still shut and locked from the night before. Another girl who became a good friend of mine swore she was in the science lab one day and she saw a man standing in the doorway and it was so life-like she actual said Hello, come on in, and when she turned to completely face the door it was gone.
The most incredible thing that happened was actually pretty shortly after I started there and hadn't really started to think it was haunted yet. We were shutting down, me and another girl, and we were standing on the landing of the second floor with the stairs to the third floor on our left. We both saw what looked like a boy wearing a red t-shirt round the corner on the second floor and run up the stairs to the third. We immediately thought there must still be visitors in the center we didn't know about -eventhough it was 30 minutes past closing time - we went upstairs to tell them we were closed and they had to leave and of course quickly realized there was no one there. "The Boy in the Red Shirt" became the inside joke and anytime anything happened we blamed it on him.
The scariest thing that happened to me was one Saturday night I kept thinking if we had left the crock pot in the break room plugged in. I called everyone I could think of to accompany me back to the center so I could check and of course couldn't get anyone. This meant I had to enter the building on the second floor, walk through the pitch black auditorium, open the gate to the dreaded third floor to get to the fire escape stairs that would take me down to the first where the break room was. I got to the first floor okay - I was scared and hurrying as fast as possible. Croc Pot - off. On my way back I was locking the gate to the third floor getting ready to head back through the auditorium and out the back entrance. I couldn't get the stupid gate locked in the dark - why did I not bring a flashlight, why? - and all the sudden I heard a far away thump and a bang. Instantly my adrenaline spiked and my whole body started to tingle and I became all the more clumsly as I fiddled with the gate lock. All my senses were 1,000% heightened. I then hear a familar sound - the whir of the elevator motor and the clanking of it's old cables firing up. I am surprised I didn't faint, it was like my worst nightmare coming true. I could see the reflection of the elevator light on the opposite wall and as it started to move up, up, up to the second floor the light reflection climbed up the wall. I don't know for some reason at that time it was really scary watching that light move up the wall knowing that damned elevator was coming and god knows who was in it. I couldn't believe this was happening. Screw the gate, I left it ajar and I took off - I hit the auditorium door right when I heard the 'ding, ding' of the elevator announcing its arrival to the second floor and the clunking sound of the doors opening. It was pitch black in the auditorium but luckily we had put away all the chairs that day so I blindly ran and just like in the movies, I tripped fell on one knee about the time the auditorium door slammed shut from when i opened it but it was still scary. I made it to the back of the building, my heart pounding, I was sure I was going to hear the sound of the door opening into that back hallway while I set the security alarm. All rational thought had left my head and I was just moving on adrenaline. I entered in the alarm code as fast as possible, denied, tried again my fingers fumbling over the keypad, denied and again my fingers getting more clumsy as I tried and denied again which meant after three unsuccessful attempts you have 30 seconds to get the right code in and out the door or the alarm will go off alerting the cops, the warning alarm started to wail and a red light blinking frantically, by this time there were tears running down my cheeks, come on come on come on I said to myself. I took a deep breath, the red light flashing illuminated all the shadows, the wail of the alarm pulsating and I made myself very slowly enter in the four numbers I had entered so many times - accepted. I was out that door and in the safety of my car so fast and I just sat there in my car staring at the building wondering if I was just crazy or if I really did hear that elevator kick in and start moving. Yes, I heard it and yes I saw the elevator light moving up the wall, it happened. Did the elevator do that all night long or was someone on there way up to say hello to the late night visitor?
Even if it was just a malfunctioning elevator given the history and all the experiences we had had there it was enough to give me one of the scariest moments of my life. I look back and laugh at myself now - I was sooooo scared.

*UPDATE*

This isn't an update on things that have happened to me, but my brother was telling someone yesterday, that he apparently saw a 'ghost.' When he was applying to the job, he went in and he apparently talked to this somewhat tall, hispanic man who was a manager there. He said they talked about the job and what-not. Then my brother said he went back a few days later about the job, and talked to the other manager who was a woman. And my brother told her that he talked to another manager the other day. She then said they DID NOT have any guy managers, or DID NOT have any hispanic managers there. (except herself) Some other guy said he saw a guy like that too.

I find that really unusual for a human to have a job interview with a spirit, communicate and chat as if the spirit were alive. That is totally unheard of, however I am trying to keep an open mind here. I suggest that you begin taking photos ASAP and see what the heck is really going on..JN

- tug on shirt - Not an unusual feeling, i'm felt odd tugging, pinching or brushing sensations every now & then, it's usualy an unraveling fold in clothing or touching something you wern't aware of which makes your spacial awareness play tricks on you
- Cups falling - what kind of cups?
- Face plate slowly peeling back - are you sure someone didn't re-attach it with sticky tape or something else (on the inside of the plate) which would cause it to slowly peel back then fall off?

Always look for the rational explanations...

The last two places I worked had activity.

The first was at an archaeological lab, which is understandable. Remains from over 200 Native American chiefs and shamans, slaves, Civil War dead, etc. Voices talking to each other, doors metal shelves being slammed, humanoid shadows, apparition of a horse of all things.

The second was at a used car lot that was a family home since at least the 40's with one confirmed death thus far. Humanoid shadows from the thigh up, some voices, heavy equipment going missing from locked rooms and ending up in other areas.

Hi from me, Shadow09!

I have been working in retail in various companies and states, all my adult life. I'm a military wife, so I have had more than one store and share of such situations you are talking about. At one hardware store I was working at, I felt like a person shoving something down my back collar, while I was waiting on a customer. It was just me, my customer, my fellow cashier next to me, who was waiting on her only customer, and no one saw anything. My customer looked at me strangely, when I asked him did he see what my co-worker did to me. No, he didn't, she didn't do a thing, he told me. Sure enough, I turned around, and she was still waiting on her customer.
I was working at a McDonald's one time, while I had my back to the open empty foyer, just as a manager was walking by, I felt like somebody took their forefingers and poked my sides. I turned around and blamed the manager, who looked at me strangely. The thing is, this manager wouldn't do such a thing, and there was no one else around.

For the last seven years, in two states, I have worked at bookstores, and all of them I have experienced really strange things. The first bookstore, I remember going around noticing all the customers and asking them if I can help them. As soon as I asked the second to last customer, and noticed a blong head looking up at a bookshelf in the back, and as I rounded a bookcase to get a better look and to advance the customer, he wasn't there! There was no place he could have gone. One second I saw the back of his blond head, and then poof, emptiness! That same place, it was just myelf on the floor, on my knees organizing a bookshelf, and a manger in the back, when I heard what sounded like someone clearing their throat. I got up and rounded the bookcase where I heard the throat clearing and proceeded to aske if I could help them, when there was noone there!!! The second bookstore, I worked at, it was also quiet, and it was just me and another bookseller, behind the counter, when we heard someone walk into the store, in front of the counter we were behind, and to the back of the store. It sounded like boots, on the floor in front of us, stomping. It couldn't be upstairs, because there was no upstairs. The thing is, we didn't see anyone. The other bookseller, pale, asked if we just heard someone walk into the store, in front of us. I said, yeah, I heard that too. We could not explain it.

THe bookstore I work in now, I have been feeling, like someone touching me or poking me with a pen, when I am behind a counter, when no one is there. A co-worker believes that it's the nerves in my skin acting as I get older, and I'll take that, but I am trying to figure out how our nerves do that.

I have heard of that happening. Somehow, people talk to spirits and not knowing that they were spirits at the time, and finding out that these spirits were actually helping them at the time. Heck, I didn't know that the blond kid in the jeans outfit and red cap was one, until I read his description on Shadowlands.net! He looked so real!!!

That is probably what I have been feeling lately. This probably coincedes with what my c0-worker was explaining to me.

That was a great account gaia ohmy.gif sounds like this place was hoaching with activity! Other peoples accounts have been interesting to read as well, this is a good thread.

I don't think it's that rare for people to have had full blown conversations or such experiences with spirits/entities in everyday run-of-the-mill situations. many could just be going about business as usual thumbsup.gif
