While I fairly believe in the fairie folk, and little people, this poorly produced video certainly doesn't depict a fairy.

Hey folks, glad to finally post upon Unecplained Mysteries. I've lurked for some time.........

I grew up in east central Nebraska. My fifth grade teacher was an older woman of Polish-American descent. This was in 1965-66. She told an entirely believable story of her husband or father (?) (I don't remember which) observing the Little People in the general area of the place I grew up. While it was most likely the ramblings of an otherwise sane, cogent, respected teacher, it made one hell of an impression upon me, at age 10 or 11.

Every society of humanity, from every corner of the world, tells tales of the Little Folk. Who am I to disbelieve?

Hey there dude,

Your post caught my attention more than the tgread itself. I too have heard of the little people, from people I reaspect and do not doubt. They are from Ireland, but they live here in Nova Scotia now. The only difference between my storie and your is that there reports were from Ireland, not here where they live now where as in your case, your teacher said she and her hausband saw them over here. Could you please elaborate on the stories she told you and give more details, also wher exactly in nebraska was this?

Gosh, that dead fairy video is not very good. Jut rehashed photo's, someone else had to do the hard work!

If anyone thought the first vid was bad, check this it's even worse. I had quite a laugh at someone was trying to pass this off as real. There was one real fairy on youtube here but I'd rather not see it again, I didn't make it through the first time. Someone has a rod on there as a fairy too. Nice concept, just so far removed from reality it's hard to even consider. I just hope the creators of this never ending source of entertainment do not get forgotten for their contribution to our modern society.

This video is so obviously faked and very poorly might I add.

I remember reading about it on Snopes. My boyfriend's sister is a big fairy-believer and she thought it was real. I love debunking her things for some reason and looked it up.

I chuckle at the delicious irony of those souls who take the time to peruse and even post chastising comments upon the "Cryptozoology, Myths and Legends" portion of any bulletin board. I find amusement in their abject, profound, complete knowledge that certain creatures cannot exist, yet regularly dive in to express their personal convictions with a forum such as this. rolleyes.gif

I wish I were so hellbent in the knowledge of my own personal beliefs. But you know something? I learn something new every day!

I don't believe this video is of a fairy at all and think it's pretty obvious, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just stating mine. Although the world would be better with fairies I don't believe in fairies.

I'm curious as to what the actual arguement in favor of faeries existing is?

There is no sustainable arguement madcap.

No evidence, no bodies, no physical remains, especially for something which has been heavily associated with the UK a country which contains 1% natural land. The lack of any evidence of the creatures existance after such potential habitat destruction (corpse etc would have been left) shows why I can say they don't exist with such conviction.

I pity those of you with no imagination.

What ever brings you to such a (in your mind) pitiful little forum such as this? Is it only to cast stones upon us poor souls who don't quite share your ironclad non-belief?

Why is it pitiful? I find it interesting, as a zoologist I find the life that actually exist beautiful and varied and containing mystery enough, I never cast any stones, I answered question to why I can so confidently state that fairies do not exist.
I have a good imagination thank you though, I just distinguish it from reality.

And I'm pleased, that within your outlook, the supernatural doesn't/cannot exist. While I've a very logical outlook/mind, I'm not quite so quick to dismiss, out of hand, the possibility of things beyond science.

Again, if you've read the thread, I had a respected, middle-aged woman, a teacher of mine, make the briefest mention of "little people." I'm simply not as steadfast in my belief, as you seem to be, in western "knowledge." \

Is there no room in your existence for something you're not quite able to explain? Just asking.

If there was something I couldn't explain I'd seek a way to explain it and no I don't believe in the supernatural, but I have never seen anything to make think there is, in fact everything that pertains to support it falls down under scrutiny. It is not a case of steadfast belief in western "knowledge" (something which is provable and repeatable), its a belief in what is real.

I appreciate the measured response. While I'm a little past youth, I appreciate middle age, here in the states. Yet, I've rarely responded to English folk.

Don't get me wrong, I"m from English and Irish stock. Still, I'm enjoying the internet granting me the opportunity to communicate, directly, with a world wide audience. I've enjoyed UM, and I hope to prosper here. An interesting place, and I hope my history of postings, some thirty, or so, have proven worthy of review.

Shark, if the barest possibility fairie folk, the "little folk" I've written of could barely exist, they're obviously not natural animals. I tend to consider them occupants of a parallel universe, and doubt they ever come right out. I've not witnessed them, myself. I've witnessed my share, however, to question many a thing. Humbly, in my Fifties, thank you.

I hope you'll understand, I saw the Liverpool, on your avatar. Gee, I've a fair collection of "things", regarding a group that originated from your city. Oh, there's several musical groups to consider, but my own collection comes from the originals. The Beatles.

Here in the States, my radio has asked "What would you grab from your house, and in the path of the fires. Imminently going to burn, and within thirty minutes. Gather what you can, you've got to leave. Of course, on the radio, family photos and money was mentioned. Family photos become priceless, in such a condition! I've photos of my father as a WWII bomber crew-member. Oh, Dad was stationed in Italy, with the Fifteenth Air Force (American).
