There are some great stories about Abraham Lincoln...Did you know that he had a dream premonition of his assasination...It's noted that he dreamt he was walking through the white house and all the lights were on, with crying and moaning from people...He went from room to room but couldn't find anyone...Finally he hit upon one room where there was a casket, the body wrapped, and military standing around it...He asked who had died, and their response was the president has been assinated...It was shortly before he died...Interesting pictures...thanks for sharing...goalie

Every book I ever read about him makes me like him. I think he was a strong, intelligent great leader. There is a whole book written about how he overcome his depression alone. The USA owes its very survival to him.

Abraham Lincoln was one of the worst presidents the US ever had. He launched the country into a war that cost 600,000 lives. He desecrated the constitution during the war by suspending habeus corpus. What a great guy.

just a word of advice... if he invites you to the theatre with him ... say you have something else to do. hmm.gif

He was a very pure noble man he always knew the right way to go in every place

i recently saw a Documentary film on Japanese men and woman that have depression
the dr.s just give them a pill thats made in America and tell them they should see a srink
if they dont fell better. so they fell instantly better after taking the pill then they get worst
after the drug wears off. most dont talk to a conselor because they are too proud

i think their problem of depression is mostly phyiscal the brain is stressed very young while
still growing there is the old saying let the kids be kids look how most childern actors/performs
end up unhappy adults that say they missed out on their childhood because of serious contracts

does you soul have a cold?

Abe quotes

"I leave you, hoping that the lamp of liberty will burn in your bosoms
until there shall no longer be a doubt that all men are created free"

"If all do not join now to save the good old ship of the Union this voyage nobody will have a chance to pilot her on another voyage."

"The will of God prevails. In great contests each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, and one must be, wrong. God cannot be for and against the same thing at the same time. In the present civil war it is quite possible that God's purpose is something different from the purpose of either party - and yet the human instrumentalities, working just as they do, are of the best adaptation to effect His purpose."

"The demon of intemperance ever seems to have delighted in sucking the blood of genius and of generosity."

"In regard to this Great Book, I have but to say, it is the best gift God has given to man. All the good the Savior gave to the world was communicated through this book."

"Both parties deprecated war; but one of them would make war rather than let the nation survive; and the other would accept war rather than let it perish. And the war came."

"I claim not to have controlled events, but confess plainly that events have controlled me."

"Common looking people are the best in the world: that is the reason the Lord makes so many of them."

He spit on the constitution during the war, and launched the Civil War by disallowing the South to secede. There is nothing in the constitution (or was at the time of the war) against secession. Lincoln declared an illegal war against the Confederacy and cost the country 600,000 lives.

What a great guy...

now how many were aware that many historians believe Lincoln was bi sexual ? ( as well as depressive).

I saw a documentery on him on the Discovery channel a few years back and it pointed to it . Shows you never know.

THE INTIMATE WORLD OF
ABRAHAM LINCOLN
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html...752C0A9639C8B63

C.A. Tripp's book The Intimate World of Abraham Lincoln makes the case that Lincoln had several homosexual relationships throughout his life. But the controversy surrounding the book has overshadowed an important fact that Tripp revealed -- a fact even harsh critics accept as true: Ann Rutledge was not the love of Lincoln's life.
Tripp's extensive new research proves it simply cannot have been the case.

And many experts, including Pulitzer Prize winning Lincoln historian David Herbert Donald now concede it is so.

I myself think he was bi.
