What the hell are some of you talking about? How can someone take a game "seriously"? How can you take something you play with seriously? A game's a game, it's supposed to be fun, isn't it? If you ask me, anyone who takes a game seriously is a -edit-
I hope you realize you can make a lot of money playing games.

I was totally ready to bury console gaming on my part before trying Wii. Super Mario Galaxy easiest one of the best games I've ever played including PC games. The most amazing thing about Wii is that it has gotten my parents interested in gaming. I think Nintendo is also doing a huge favor for Sony and Microsoft by widening gaming community.

i take the ps3 as a joke, the price is way too much, i own a wii and its fantastic, most people who have never played it will says its terrible this and that, but its actually a lot of fun. xbox 360 in my opinion only has halo 3. no offence to anyone this is just my opinion.

Who cares about being 'hardcore'? It is probably one of the dumbest terms in the industry. Playing video games is about having fun its not about being cool or hardcore.

Can't somebody be a 'hardcore wii fan' or a 'hardcore casual gamer'? I'm into hardcore knitting myself...

I'll stick up for the Wii!
It definitely has its place in the games market.
It's good for young children...and/or people with learning difficulties. thumbsup.gif

I consider myself a hardcore gamer and a long time nintendo fan. In addition I am a pc gamer and former ps2 owner, and used to be a sega fan. I especially like the wii for its creativity and innovation, both with software and its unique hardware. To me being hardcore is about more than just graphics. It seems the 360 is full of repetitive games that are all the same thing...shooters. I don't consider that hardcore, I consider it quite basic and limited.

True.

Think about it...we have bin playing games basically the same games in the same way since it all started.

I want something new, something different.

I play the 360, Wii, PS2, and DS currently. I have no silly brand loyalties.

Of course that must explain why it is the fastest selling console in history and is miles ahead of its competitors with their fancy graphics and controllers with so many buttons. wink2.gif

In all seriousness why people feel the need to attack other consoles merely because it's not their gaming preference is beyond me, its immature and pathetic while achieving absolutely nothing. This is not in reference to any UM members. Billy and others are just having fun in this thread however if members decide to search the internet the amount of hate and lies on gaming consoles is phenomenal. I personally own a Wii and 360 and would like to one day own a PS3 because all have their own unique reasons for purchase. thumbsup.gif

I love my Wii and would recommend it to familys, plus you bring in the games you feel suitable for
the ages in the family. Also, the Wii fitness is a blast.. One of our 3 yr old can throw strikes bowling
hit 450 some pins and she can golf too. Our 7 year old wants to play and is doing awesome also with
coordination and just all of us up off the couch is amazing ! Fun fun fun.....

you're right, people can take it all too seriously- Especially between the 360 and Playstation 3.
Which imo sort of defeats the purpose of playing games- If it's fun, and addictive.. that's all that matters; which is where the Wii has sneaked in.
As someone pointed out, earlier in the thread- the standard shoot em up..is becoming more and more... repetitive hmm.gif
Everyone I know who has one...loves it! thumbsup.gif

Real gaming is about playing a wide range of different and good games. Its not all about the FPSs and graphics.

This 'hardcore' crap is annoying.
