At the end of this week we celebrate Halloween. When people speak about Halloween they think about ghosts, witches and so. Do you know the link between Halloween and ghosts? You can read it here : The origin of Halloween. Do you celebrate this event? And how? Do you find the tips in this article useful for organizing a Halloween party : Halloween party tips or can you give more tips?

- Ferelia : a day on the end of October when the Romans commemorated the passing of the death

Death of who? Is there only one death? hows does a Death pass you? etc etc etc.
Maybe I'm being picky but the passage was full of sentences that seemed like they hadnt been finished or had been cut short with the important bit missing.

I suspect the Copy and paste gremlins may be too blame...

These are some pretty good tips, the costumes, decorations, and music are all a big part of it, but of course my favorite thing at parties is the FOOD! There are many good websites online that have spooky Halloween recipies, sorry the link didn't work, but if you google it you'll find helpful stuff.

In Answer to Torchwood : with commemorating the passing of the deaths; they mean that they commemorate on a day at the end of okober the people who are died. It is the same like with the Christian event on the first of November now.

I've gleaned some good tips from UM for our Halloween Party this year.

Someone posted the Cat Litter Cake (ewww, very convincing) - a surefire winner at any party. Also, I'm having a gaggle of 10 year olds this year - and for pudding... no sorry, my son has invited many friends over who happen to be 10.

We're trick or treating and telling spooky tales on the route of the many, ahem, haunted houses that so happen to be in our area - alarmingly, about 10 of them.

Get some dry ice and place it in a bucket of water and put them in the bushes, should create a fog if you buy alot of dryice.

Halloween is the Christianised version of the old Pagan New Year, Samhain.

People believed that at this time of year, the veil between the living and the dead was very thin, and so it was time to thank our ancestors for the harvest, and to ask for blessings for the coming winter. It was also a time to remember those people and pets that had passed over, and to send them messages of love.

I normally organise a local Ghost Walk to raise money for a cancer charity, but this year my partner in crime cannot walk! So, I am having a proper Samhain party to celebrate the new year!
Lots of food and wine and beer and fizzy-pop, and CAKE!! YAY!
