Matt Haas: Hello, most of those who read my articles know who I am. For those who don’t, I am the proud founder of LIGHT Paranormal Research. We are located on Long Island, NY. We also have our own radio broadcast called LIGHT Paranormal Radio that we conduct on a weekly basis. Recently I am working on a project with Co Founder Douglas Clayton from Georgia on something called United Paranormal. It’s been a long time dream to unite Paranormal Enthusiasts, Investigators, Researchers, Psychics, and Spiritual Mediums from across the U.S. and abroad to join forces in the hunt for one common goal. The dream we all share is finding out the answers to the Paranormal and the Afterlife. I personally believe that by bringing everyone together in this expedition, or quest in a collaborative team effort will help us get closer to accomplishing such a dream.

What is so unique about United Paranormal versus ghost conferences? United Paranormal is going to be a “think outside the box” think tank open source network and community that will unite such individuals and groups with the same common goal to help those in need whether you are there to share your knowledge, educate, or learn. When I say “think outside the box” what we mean by that is we are going to conduct experiments, try new methods, and new techniques to share with those willing to learn in our own conferences, classes and lectures.

With that being said, think of the many benefits everyone can enjoy when they enroll. If you’re a team looking for an extra hand, a new member, or some work, let United Paranormal be your network! Perhaps you are an individual who is looking to join a Paranormal Research Group in their area? We’ll post a listing of Paranormal Research Teams who have enrolled with United Paranormal across the U.S. and abroad!

Another great example is, say my Aunt lives in Arizona and is need of a Paranormal Investigation? I can’t afford to fly and help my Aunt. However, I know there is an Arizona based Research Group in our circle? I’d like to rely on them to help her out! Another example is, say a group lacks equipment or the knowledge to help a family in need. It would be nice to count on another group who might have sufficient equipment and knowledge and perhaps conduct a joint investigation.

These are just the few things Research Groups and Individuals can benefit from United Paranormal! I think it’s a great idea. It’s innovative. It all boils down to research. The more chances we all get to research, the greater the chances we have at finding our answers towards the Paranormal & Afterlife! Be apart of the expedition... the quest... UNITED WE STAND!!!

How will UP be distinguished from other paranormal associations/networks such as the TAPS family?

United Paranormal isn't about competing with groups and networks such as TAPS for example. This is about a group of people trying to do things they like to do. Not every group out there can be affiliated with TAPS, they are either accepting applications for family members or they aren't, but with United Paranormal the doors are always open.

There are a lot of research wings out there so why not one more? This is something I have actually been wanting to do for a long time now and im looking forward to it. This can open a lot of doors for groups both statewide and abroad. Joint Investigations, sharing ideas, educating the public, trying new things, trying out new theories, all sounds good to me.

I only mention TAPS because they are best known right now. There are other associations out there now too.



My point exactly. There are a lot out there. So what will make UP stand out from the crowd? Why would someone want to be a part of UP instead of one of the others? Why would someone looking for help with the paranormal choose a UP member rather than a member of another association?

I sound like a broken record here, but ONCE AGAIN. Its in no shape or form. ( for TAPS followers ) competition to TAPS. We are different! Its a think outside the box think tank. Its a collaborative TEAM EFFORT. Its all about RESEARCH. Its about going that STEP FURTHER where no other network or group has tried before.

That's fine. All I'm asking is with so many other paranormal networks, associations, families, etc. out there what is going to make UP different or standout from the crowd? What is going to make an investigator or group want to be a member of UP instead of some other association? And what is going to make a person seeking paranormal help choose a UP member rather than a member of another organization?

If you want to just make another organization, more power to you and good luck. But as Enjay said there are many out there already so UP will just be one of many already in a crowded field. Think of it as looking up 'plumbers' or 'chinese resturants' in the yellow pages. There are dozens if not hundreds listed. Why pick one over another? Looking at it from a business POV, what will "sell" UP over the others already there? Or simply make a UP member stand out from someone/some group who is not UP affiliated?

I think it's a reasonable question.

Well you brought up the chinese restaurants in yellow pages and my mentality, whatever is closest, or who delivers.

Same concept...We do not have to stand out in the crowd, thats not our goal, we aren't about oh look at us, we are about "what can we do for you"...

As I have said before, there are a lot of research groups, but in my area alone, there are groups with no affiliation, im talking 3-4 groups just roaming around with no ties doing their own thing. Even though we have all these research wings, there are still areas left uncovered.

There are literally THOUSANDS of groups who arent even known yet because they fly under the radar so to speak. Nobody has reached out to them to let them know, hey, you can be apart of something. Sometimes groups do not go out of their way to contact a group like United Paranormal or TAPS to become a family member.

We aren't out to sell ourselves or the group per se. If groups or individuals want to help UP's cause, so be it, if they don't there are thousands upon thousands of people in the shadows. This is something that we want to do not only for ourselves, but for those around us.

I live in Valley Stream, NY and am VERY VERY VERY interested in joining your "UP" group!! I have been attending some development classes to better my psychic skills for the past three months. I always have felt that I have a certain ability to tune into different frequencies that are available to us, but that most don't realize exists. I am also a part of a monthly seance group and that's when I knew that this is an area that I would like to delve into more. I want to not only help people but I also want to investigate paranormal experiences with the hopes that I can develop into a well-rounded psychic medium.
