Guess we're OT again...oh well...With my very first post here, I put it in blogs instead of new posts...Noone helped me out, and one person was really rude....I realized my mistake and just read posts and wouldn't write any for quite some time....Now, this one rude person has become my friend and has enlightened me on quite a few issues I knew nothing about, and is always there for me if I have any questions....I'm just glad I took my time and watched the boards....

Resisting the temptation to respond to deliberate snidey insults is really hard sometimes.

I have ignored many insults... sat back, deep breath...fingers itching to type in the
counter-attack....but reminded myself that if I crack I'm falling into 'their' trap...

I guess some threads are kind of pointless to begin with (or inherently breach the ToC). I've seen moderator comments to the effect of "this thread serves no purpose", or "trainwreck".

With umpty-hundred posts/threads per day, and only around 16 moderators, they can't afford to shilly-shally around.

I take your point/s....it's just when a few members are genuinely into the topic it's a shame when a silly
childish arguement errupts and everyone suffers. I don't remember being involved in a thread myself, when this
has happened....but I've seen it.

On the whole I think the moderators and Saruman do a good job...and I am grateful...as I seem to be
addicted to this forum....

And of course... if a topic is not inherently in conflict with the ToC, but has merely triggered an unrelated flame-war, then we can always re-intrudice the same topic at a later date, with a slight disguise. (I have a selection of orange, badly-drawn false noses for this very purpose

This forum is defended. That's why it has as many members as it does. At the same time, it is open to most subject matter. The lines have been fairly drawn in almost every situation that I am aware of. This site has some of the best moderation you'll find ANYWHERE.
