i reckon the world today needs some good hardcore to stiffen it up

not this hip hop influence on every child animated movie with the talking animals with blaack hip hop influnced characters (not being racist)

i mean hardcore as in straightedge , clean fun. but it would be nearly impossible to to put hardcore on child movies

i also like metalcore

does anyone like hardcore

"HELL YEAH" I sit back and relax to it, or I do the housework to it. Good for the soul. devil.gif

I heard three songs by Good Clean Fun. Only one I liked was the MySpace song. xD (Tom, it's your fault.)
What exactly makes "hardcore music"? I like a lot of Japanese hard rock bands with positive (somewhat poppy) vocal sounds, though I can't understand the lyrics. I'm really "out of the loop" with non-Japanese music, as weird as that may be.

BRINGING LIGHT TO THE DARK

If you believe that music, through lyric and song, can change
a mood, a person or, dare i say, the world...then look no further.

As accurately described in Almost Famous, it's all about that indefinable
thing when people catch something from your music.

What am I talking about? The buzz. Music is real. And we are real,
I believe that with something so simple, music, can in fact change the world.

Yeah, your hardcore definition is rather to vague, please give more definition. If you're talking about some heavy, distorted rock music, then yes, I listen to Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold, etc.

I actually loved more of a "complicated" music, like classic and jazz. That's why I love Queen. The rocks! I mean, really!

i dont see why straightedge would be a problem for kid movies?

if the true meaning is no drugs,no smoking, and no alcohol.

i think ABC After School Specials did a good job for teens.

there were many classics i know
"The Boy Who Drank Too Much" (1980)
"The Day My Kid Went Punk" (1987)
"The Girl with the Crazy Brother" (1990)

A more realistic treatment of teen issues in movies and prime time television
of the 1990s also caused after school specials to fall out of favor.

disney should make straightedge cartoons

Most pure hardcore tend to suck. There are a few exceptions, of course with original harcore bands like Sick Of It All and Madball. My favorite hardcore band would have to be Bury Your Dead. Their last album, "Beauty and the Breakdown" is jaw-droppingly brutal. Also, the last two Throwdown albums have been extremely good. They're a modern day Pantera.

But I really love when bands mix hardcore with other metal genres, usually thrash. Bands like Dry Kill Logic and Ankla are two great examples of bands that do this flawlessly.

If you want to combat hip hop influences you should do it with good music (blues for example), instead of a different kind of bad music (hardcore). tongue.gif

I can't stand most rap music (if it can be called that). Most of it is remixed, dubbed, loops of someone else's musical genius.

I say, what ever motivates you- go for it.

Personally, I like NIN, Korn, etc.

Right On!

And for the OP, who's his avatar is Gaara's brother (hehe..) Sorry, no offense but I don't really liked the band you've offered, maybe if they come up with another...less aggresive theme.

Doesn't hardcore send the message that it's ok to be angry at everything? There are other emotions that can be conveyed in music other than anger (and love for those who are into pop music). If you focus on one emotion you're denying the whole spectrum, there's plenty of great mellow love songs out there too, maybe you should check some out.

And hip hop isn't all bad, I used to hate it all before I actually tried listening to some.

Thank vishnu for you, Johnny Cash proves that music doesn't have to be loud and angry to be tough. The world needs more old country music like that and less country pop thats designed for line dancing to.

I think we need a revival of the great song writers like cash, and roy orbison. i'm not saying it has to be their style of music, I'm just saying everything seems lacking these days.

Quotes for truth, though I do not necessarily love blues music either. It's just the lesser (much lesser) of two evils tongue.gif

How about Underoath or Funeral of a Friend?

I used to listen these kinds of music, but I am now more to symphonic/melodic metal (especially with female vocalist)... and trance music (weird mix of preference, eh?)

REBEL
I'm 'Hardcore' Gutsy Blues & Classic Rock, most stuff i tune into comes from out of Texas ('the place' for hardcore gutsy blues imo) but hey to each their own. Having said that anyone bagg'n the blues are bagg'n legends like Hendrix, Vaughan, Van Halen(Eddie), Clapton, Led Zep, ZZ Top, Satriani, Deep Purple, Slash, AC/DC ... the list goes on & on, all influenced by The Blues/Blues Legends.<-- Muddy Waters, B.B King, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Howl'n Wolf err the list goes on...

Thats it thats all i wanted to add thumbsup.gif
