I have a cousin who has always been a good looking woman. As most of my relatives are. ( Good looking, not necessarily women. It must be a family trait.) In her teens, she was in the Miss South Australia quest.
Anyway, a few years back she was working as a tour guide in the old convict ruins in Pt. Arthur. (Tasmania) There are stories of many ghosts in this location, but she had never run across any. One day she was walking through the old convict orchard area, when she sensed a presence. This quickly developed into the sensation of someone running their hands over her body. It was broad daylight, and there was obviously no one there, but the sensation was unmistakeable. She ran out of the orchard and the feelings ceased.
Understandably quite upset, she went to see her supervisor, and desribed exactly what happened. He gave her a wry smile and said, "I thought this might happen. You just encountered "Old Frank." Don't worry . He's harmless."
He went on to explain that "old Frank" was the ghost of a convict who had been working in the orchard area and had died at an old age. A number of women had experienced the same sensations in this locale, and some had described them to him.
My cousin got quite upset. "Well why didn't you warn me, or say something about him?" she asked.
"Ahh, you see," replied the supervisor, "it is a bit embarrassing. Old Frank is a discriminating ghost, with high standards" All the women he has "molested" have been beautiful. How would you have felt if I had warned you, and then Frank had never bothered you? As it turns out, you obviously met his standards."
By now bemused, partly mollified, and beginning to see the funny side of the whole experience, my cousin could appreciate his point of view. Even so, she chose to walk around the orchard area, rather than through it, for the rest of her time at Pt Arthur.
