This post isn't for people to post giant essays on what they think death is but to rather post a single quote that explains it all. The quote needs to be less than 3 sentences and needs to be your own.
I'll begin:
Death may seem a cruel condition on life's foul take of its own creation, but think again for however cliche it is to you, life is a line with two opposite ends; One end says "birth' and the other says "death", but there are quite a few blank spots to be filled in between them.

Death, after death there is nothing.. but i think perhaps after you die life again is possible
so maybe death is just somthing you have to experiance, just to see what it feels like.

I agree that there is absolutely nothing after death.. as soon as electrical activity ceases in our brains... that it.. the complex biological machine that is "you" simply stops...

I think the statement 'after death' is an oxymoron.
I think I am confusing even myself?!?

Honestly, I think everyone is afraid of death. It's the ultimate unknown. We can go to bottom of the ocean and we can point a telescope into the ends of the universe.
But we can't with something like death. It's scary.

Nothing can be created or destroyed, so why is there reason to worry? Even if that just isn't true, nothingness isn't really that bad; at least you won't have to put up with your enemies anymore.

Thats a fact! lol!
But if people 'worry' about dying some & or even most of their life then you could say they never really lived have they?
QUOTE
It's the ultimate unknown.
Kinda cool in a way ain't it, imagine if we all 'knew' what was waiting for us on the other side, people might start queuing up to go or try to make the most of what they got before we go (depends on whats waiting) & or even try'n to find a way to cheat death itself as i'm sure there are some who've tried. lol!
QUOTE
But we can't with something like death. It's scary.
It shouldn't be, imo it's 'religion' thats made it appear that way (scary

)
People have lived & died every minute of everyday & will continue to do so well after we're all dead & gone...''thats life'' we either accept it or we don't.

I completely agree.
I always liked this one by John Muir:
"Let children walk with Nature, let them see the beautiful blendings and communions of death and life, their joyous inseparable unity, as taught in woods and meadows, plains and mountains and streams of our blessed star, and they will learn that death is stingless indeed, and as beautiful as life."

Death is merely a new begining. If we knew what happened after that we would never learn anything.

Honestly, I think everyone is afraid of death. It's the ultimate unknown.
I assure you death holds absolutely NO fear for me at all. I look forward to the day I die, it is one of the key "experiences" of life, to die. It makes me feel immortal knowing I can die at anytime and knowing that death holds no fear for me, for what is there to fear if death is the worst that can happen?

While I do not fear death, I also am not eager to 'enjoy' the experience just yet.
It is just another phase of our existence, nothing more, nothing less.

life after death is just what we tell ourselves to help cope with our fear of death.

Agreed.
Personally I think the idea of eternal nothingness is far more attractive then eternal life. If we truly are eternal then the moment is nothing, has no meaning. The fact is that an afterlife cheapens this life immeasurably.
As to a quote on the subject
Do not fear death so much, but rather the inadequate life.
Bertolt Brecht
That sums it up adequately. This life is all that matters. The next is promised to noone

Death is a part of life, like it or not. Most people see it as a bad, scary thing, but i think it is simply the end of function in the human brain. so, it's not like you have to be scared of it. it's just there.

Not an essay, sorry for going past the not more than three lines stipulation:
Last night, I was a man dreaming he was a butterfly.
Am I today, a butterfly dreaming it's a man?
Who experience's, falling asleep?
When I awaken, I remember I went to sleep,
but the one who would experience it, was already asleep.
I think death is the same.
The relative mind is left behind, along with the rudimentary
consciousness that cares for the mind body organism,
as in sleep, so in death,
until and when the harbinger of death sounds it's call,
and 'A New Consciousness' comes into being.
A new entity steps forth from within the old one, a nobody, per se,
and on a different plane or dimesion.
But since time is irrelevant at this point, this newness is really an
oldness, if so it may be said, an "I", which has been too long forgotten . . .
arises.
and I Am,
Born again
or Unborne
"That" is the way

This soul, although tied to this body in life and there for subject to the laws of this universe of which time is the most sinister; shall be freed from the grip of this universe including time after this life passes away not to exist for all eternity, but to exist with God outside eternity looking in at all points in time at the same moment. My eternal existence shall be both an instant and forever as if they were one in the same.
