Someone sent me an email with a last pic taken by an explorer whose body was found mangled but his camera was intact. The pic was of a human like figure with bat-like arms and somewhat clubby feet. It was hanging off the side of the cave and was looking directily at the camera. Very realistic looking. Has anyone seen this pic and where? It was deleted before I had a chance to save it and the person who sent it to me doesn't have it anymore either! Any leads are appreciated.

It's not a hoax!!!!!!!!!!!! If it is a hoax then it hasn't been proven yet. Too scary to be part of an amusement park.

DreamRebel,
I think that is a picture from the movie The Boogens. Did anyone
other than myself ever see that movie? 1981 I think.

Sorry MagickMan but that was the lamest debunking excuse ever. I went to the Chedder caves website, They are claiming its a set of carved rocks! Now you look at that picture and tell me thats a set of carved rocks.

It could be off a movie, Someone in a Halloween costume or even a zoomed up shot of model but a rock carving? Never in a million years.
Look at it the bits of its anatomy touching the rock, Im pretty sure if it were part of
the cave you would be able to see joins between it and the cave walls. Also I've I live near a sculpture park, That so called rock carving has an incredible attention to detail. If thats a rock carving then it should be in a art gallery.

http://www.cheddarcaves.co.uk/i can't seem to find any mention... altho i feel this is a hoax, according to
www.rense.com they emailed Cheddar Caves, and they deny having that specific creature...

I'll admit something,I couldn't find anything about the "Goblin" on the site. I changed the post while writing it, Accidentally leaving " went to the Chedder caves website" in the post.

Has anyone ever tried to trace this pictures origin? Like finding who posted it, asking them where they got it, asking the person they got it from where they got it, etc. I guess this would be hard, as the picture is almost semi-famous, but it could explain if it's a hoax or not.
That thing looks a lot like my brother.

This had been on our forum at one time quite a while ago, but the thread has unfortunately disappeared. The story is a hoax, here are the details for you;
I received the below information from a viewer
The above photo (claimed to be a creature in a rock crevice) is a photo of a carving in Cheddar Showcaves & Gorge in Somerset, England. The REAL story behind it is that a man ("John," 33, Bournemouth UK) went to Saudi Arabia on a business trip. He met a man who said he had seen a flash of light in a dark cave and snapped a picture, and this is the picture that came out. John obtained a copy of the picture (the locals said it was a djinn, or evil spirit) and brought it back to England in search of a buyer. It turns out that the "djinn" is part of Cheddar Showcaves, a tourist attraction which contains an attraction called "Crystal Quest." Crystal Quest is a dark cave full of Tolkeinesque carvings, intermittently lit by strobe. Cheddar Gorge officials confirmed this and noted that many people had taken pictures of strange things in the cave, after seeing a flash of light and pointing their camera at it. You can still see this statue there. This picture was debunked in Fortean Times "Strange Days #1," 1996, pp.27-28, from which the above information is taken. The information comes from HERE

Considering I don't climb a 90 degree cave wall down.. yes. With this creature arround to be considered a caver you will need an AK47 handy in your hand

No, the article doesn't claim it to be a set of carved 'rocks', it uses the word 'carving', but it could be a matter of semantics. The letter supposedly sent by the personal assistant at Cheddar Caves refers to it as 'plaster', which is probably closer to the truth. Being as I don't live in England, I've naturally never been able to confirm the validity of what was reported by the Fortean Times magazine. I can only rely on the fact that they have a solid reputation for accuracy and credibility. Notice also that the 'story' is quite old and was debunked back in 1996. The letter is dated July of 2002, could it be possible that by that time the 'exhibit' could have been removed? How long had the 'personal assistant' worked at the Cheddar Caves? Has anyone even bothered to determine the reliability of the email? I'm tempted to request a verification from the Fortean Times website to help settle the matter once and for all. Or maybe one of our English members can confirm whether they've ever seen that particular exhibit at the Cheddar Caves?
