Is Jim Carey a smash or crash? huh.gif
OneEye
I think Carey's a good actor. Especially "Liar Liar" and "Bruce Almighty".

I think he is a very funny person. My favorite movie he was in has got to be Ace Venture : Pet Detective.

crash. hes not acting hes really that goofy. but hes really funny,

he should never have been the riddler in batman forever

some of his movies have been funny. Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber and Cable Guy are about the only two I can think of. I didn't like Bruce Almighty or Me, Myself, and Irene because I think they rely too heavily on him making goofy faces and not enough on a good story and good jokes. I think he's best when playing a really bizarre character, like the dude from Cable Guy, and not someone normal like Bruce Nolan.

All of my friends think he's hilarious but that slapstick, in your face humour doesnt do anthing for me. I prefer Robin Williams to Jim Carey. Well, other than in Mrs. Doubtfire. Man i hate that film. Did anyone see One Hour Photo? I know its not a comedy...but williams in amazing.

I love Jim Carey!!! He is so funny!... I Love his movies! (Got Bruce Almighty for Christmas)

I was once asked who I thought would be the perfect date... and I said Jim Carey... can you imagine going out with someone who would make you laugh that much?

I have heard that he is always that silly.. it's not just an act... but his personallity.

I also think that Adam Sandler would make a perfect date! thumbsup.gif

According to some people who've worked with him, Jim Carey's a bit of an ass clown...

A while back, he was supposed to be making a movie in which there was a scene where he would be in a wrestling match against Jerry 'the King' Lawler...the thing is, the scene had been planned with Jerry delivering the actual wrestling moves to Carey, until, on the day of shooting, Carey's agents told the director if that happened then they would sue Jerry for endangering their client...

Jerry, not wanting to be sued obviously, tried to work around this problem by speaking with the directer about getting a stunt double in for Carey...Carey, however, was having none of it, and had what is described by all who witnessed it as "a hissy fit" ohmy.gif He started screaming in the middle of the ring about it, until someone advised Jerry to leave until he'd calmed down...which Jerry did, until Carey decided to walk up, and actually spit in Jerry's face as he was stepping out of the ring...

It took Carey some three seconds of looking at a 240lbs man wiping spit from his face to realise he had made a big mistake, and try to run away. Jerry however became so furious he ran after him, and locked on a sleeper hold that very nearly made Carey pass out...

Now, on the set, there was a bodyguard working for Jim Carey who tried to rush to the rescue...and he reached under the bottom rope to grab a hold of Carey's feet, and tried to pull him out...and a strange tug-o-war ensued with Jerry holding Carey around the neck, and another guy about the same size pulling on his ankles.

After a minute or so, Jerry let him go...only, the other 200+lbs man was still pulling, and the result was Carey was dragged out of the ring at dangerous speed and, already unconscious, smashed his head against the floor on the outside of the ring.

I can't exactly remember how the story ends...but I'm pretty confident that Mr. Lawler and Mr. Carey did not finish the movie together tongue.gif

Great story... I would actually expect that from someone like him tongue.gif

Too Funny!

I personally thought Jim was outstanding in his portrayal of The Riddler in the batman sequel. cool.gif

Jim Carrey is fantastic when he does the right movies. "Liar, Liar", "Dumb and Dumber", etc. It's when he does things like "The Majestic" or the "Cable Guy" that he lets everyone down. Go with what got you there, Jim!

Oh, and "The Truman Show"! I don't know how I forgot about that.

I wouldn't expect him to appear in a drama movie... To put it like that... whistling2.gif
