Me too, which is why I've been on Sirius' 'Super Shuffle' the last few weeks. One second I'm listening Chuck Berry and the next is Nickelback.

Not much variety here... Seeing as rock has over 7 other sub-genres, same with heavy metal.
I voted for;
Rock (+Jrock)
Heavy Metal
Alternative
Pop (Jpop only)
I'm also into Orchestra, but that wasn't up there.
Reasoning for Jpop (Japanese pop) and Jrock, is due to the fact that it's all very different to most of the crap spewed out from the west. Each band have their own identity - unlike western bands who seem to go with whatever sells. Which is why only the old metal and rock bands are the only decent music records released since 2000 - with a few exceptions.
Also... "Spanish" is a music genre?

I chose not to vote on the poll.

My favorite genre is Visual Kei. The bands under it sound like Japanese rock, metal and pop, with some eccentricities in sound, as well as a focus on visuals. (which does
not detract from the music in any way...)
Examples of such bands include:
Wizard (Japan)
Metis Gretel
Vidoll
etc.

Where is the Progressive?
And most importantly.... where is the hardcore?

I'm mostly a classic rock gal... ya know, the oldies but goodies, Zepplin, The Who, Tom Petty, yadda yadda...
But I like a little of everything... a little something in every genre mostly.
