I wear a pendent of the Dragon of Strength and Courage. It is a celtic design and on first ook might be passed (from far away) as a cross, however it has celtic knots and a dragon woven around it.
I wear it because not only do I like the design, but it feels natural to wear it unlike some other pendents I own (the type you wear for going out.) It is as much a part of me as much as my nose or eyes are.

I Have a Drum < I use to bles things to My home in Heaven, but as Far as Talismans, I guess my wedding Ring, with A white diamond a Blue diamond and a Ruby, which represent The Father, Son and Mother, or Holy Spirit, could be considdered a talisman of sorts..

Actually ,pretty much, yes, I believe in the power of positive thought. I have a theory.
A talisman that you believe in can possibly do this. (Actually you are doing it) You focus your positive energy on your
talisman,it seems the mind is a very powerful force or something, that can create positive energy around you
Supposedly it's true and cannot be explained yet, but there also is a thing called confirmation bias.
So I should research what other's have researched some more.
And then take a deep hard look at my own life & others and see if what seems to be true, really is.

There is something very powerful about drums it seems.
It's used here(percussion rythmns-trommeln ) to treat psychosomatic illnesses, mental illness & for physical therapy. Not by witch doctors but by medical doctors & homeopaths.

I have a drum to, I use it in ritual and I go to drumming circles. It is good therapy for me as it keeps my hands working and my brain active. I am not very good but I enjoy it.

I think the talisman can work as a sort of "anchor" for a positive feeling - mostly motivation, optimism. By touching it, or even knowing that you wear it, this positive feeling is triggered. The same thing could be achieved by simply rubbing your leg, making a fist, etc.. Those psychological anchors can be used for all sort of feelings. Music, colour, etc. can be used as a trigger as well. If you want to see what those triggers can do, you should watch Derren Brown's "The Heist". So much about a psyhcological explanation.
I don't believe that a simple, mass produced talisman will be protecting you of anything, or bringing you luck, etc (well, apart from that psychological effect mentioned above). However, I do believe that at least some of us can achieve a lot if we concentrate. I am convinced due to subjective experience and experience of others, that curses and blessings do work. So if you would concentrate hard enough you might bless a talisman, thus make it work - though to intensify the amount of concentration and thought that is attached to it, it might be better to create the talisman yourself.
I do not think that the actual symbol matters in achieving the blessing - as long as you like/believe in it and it helps you to increase concentration, it should work.

I have traveled while drumming, It's like I get in this groove and My hands just keep the beat, Like Prayer only More intense, and when I come back, My hands are keeping the beat all by them self, when I try to help The spell is broken, I've done it on the trap kit, and when I hand drum, stirs something very primal and primitive in My spirit.

I wear the Om around my neck, it's a symbol that I definitely feel a kinship with.
The transcendent power of drums (or rather, of music in general) is undeniable. Especially when listening to something such as an African percussion ensemble, or better yet a collective free improvisation. There is more energy in those two forms of music than nearly anything else I have ever heard or performed.

Being that I am allergic to metals, I don't wear any jewelry of any kind very often. When I do put on a necklace, I wear a pendant my sister made me in school, it is a copper enamel that I absolutely love, and I swear that it brings me luck. Maybe it is just because my sister was thinking of me when she made it, I'm not sure, but it is very special to me.
