http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/11/wii-guit...nly-mono-sound/"Audiophilic owners of Guitar Hero III for the Wii have noticed that not only does the game not support Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound systems (despite that feature being advertised), but it doesn't even output sound in stereo. As we all know, it's nearly impossible to pass "Cult of Personality" on Expert unless the manic shredding of Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid washes over you from six different angles."
Apparently the Wii is trying to go back to the 50s.

How Activision were unable to identify this 'glitch' is beyond me, the Wii supports Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound systems without any issues and considering that this is a music game you would think such a problem would have been identified early in development and easily rectified.

I heard the rumors in relation to the Pro Logic II problem. Nothing official yet although I am unable to access many of the sites I would find that info on. This is the first time I've heard of the mono sound but I see no reason why they wouldn't do what they could to fix it.

During release week in the US it did appear that they understocked the Wii version, as the vast majority of retailers sold out. I would assume that they were unsure of how many people would be willing to purchase the game and guitar on the Wii considering that GH had already been out on all the other consoles, leading to an already established fanbase whom already owned the guitar and only had to purchase the game. However as the Wii version was easily second behind the 360 version in terms of sales, it appears that Wii owners are very much supporting this franchise. So Activison will definately be very supportive of the Wii fanbase from now on.

Always hating on the Wii aren't you Ashigaru. Its not the Wii's problem its the games problem for having a glitch that should have bin discovered during testing.

^Cadet while it is obvious anti-Nintendo posting from Ashigaru it is best to just ignore his comments and anti-nintendo and microsoft views and discuss the topic at hand. Ignore the flame-baiting so the discussion does not became personal and degenrate into a flame-war. I don`t want to have to take action against any members. The facts are clear, this is Activision's fault and even then numerous copies do not have this glitch as numerous forums discussing the issue have shown, while also highlighting the many problems with the 360, PS3 and PS2 versions as well. Guitar Hero III has achieved incredible sales on the Wii considering Wii-owners had to purchase the guitar and game while 360, PS3 and PS2 owners had the option of only purchasing the game as many already owned the guitar from previous GH iterations. The 360 alone achieved sales of just under 800,000, with Wii coming in second with sales of just over 270,000 surpassing the PS3 and PS2 sales of the game. This ensures future GH games on the Wii and will hopefully ensure Rock Band also comes to the Wii.
