NO..lol...it's not about demons. I thought for a little change in pace and to bring a little levity and good spirits, we could name our favorite UM Posters and why we like them. Or name our favorite Thread, and what you particularly enjoyed about it.

<a href="http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...=disappearances" target="_blank">http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...=disappearances</a>

There was something about the subject matter that really brought it home for me. The fact that some of these people were just walking along, minding their own business, thinking about what was for dinner, and **poof** they're gone. Are they gone to themselves? Or are they in a different place? And the fact that so many have disappeared right under our noses was very disturbing. I thought it was a great thread, and stimulated some good research and discussions. original.gif ~Jackal

hmmmm, that's a hard one - there are too many to choose.

I'm going to put Dancing Hamsters ghost stories up as my favourites. I particularly liked the Welsh cottage ghost story.

Also, I love the ghost photographs too - fascinating, regardless of if they're debunked or not, it's interesting to discuss them.

I agree where ghost photos are concerned. But I don't care for the regular photos that are cropped, depixelated, and then some obscure shape is circled to indicate there is a paranormal image. But I like the ghost photos for sure.

I like reading what JN has to say since IMO she's pretty qualified to comment on most of these threads. As for my favorite thread, I'd have to say the one in which the boy posted saying he is half demon or something and wanted to know its name - I was laughing all the way through reading that.
Belle.
OMG there was a really funny thread ages ago by Kortef who was apparently being haunted by some mysterious creature.

Then some guy starts posting:

"You are not abducted by alien. It is some kind of skinny strange bigfoot.
I also encountered this kind of thing. have you done something before that makes this strange creature hates you ? But actually this thing won't kill you but it will annoy you very much. Do you know this thing smoke big cigars ?
That's why there is a charred burned marks on your roof. Your stuff gone missings, lights flicker off on etc. that is all a big signs of this strange creatures.
But sometimes if they like you specially if you're a woman, that thing will court you like giving you something. My first advice to you at the moment is not to worry about it. Try talking to this thing and apologize and don't swear to it. They also eat our foods so why not offer a food so you can get a truce. Just leave the food on the roof. That's all i can say at the moment cuz i don't wanna make it longer and complicated as people here will find it irratating to hear."

That thread made me laugh so hard. laugh.gif

I don't know if I have been here long enough to have favorite posters, but there have been threads I could not get enough of.

I completely agree with the earlier posts that said the boy with the demon inside him was pretty funny. Also, there is a kid who thinks he is bring haunted by a female ghost, that was good.

I usually check out the Alternative History posts, and love the mysteries of mind, space, and time threads too.

I read alot of the Spirituality v. skepticism too, but I get put off by the personal attacks that happen there so frequently to everyone.

P.S. Apparently I offended Jackal somehow, as per a comment I received on my profile. He has blocked me, but I can't find anywhere that I said something offensive to him. As a matter of fact, I thought we had a few good conversations. I didn't mean to offend anyone, that is the opposite of my goal in being here, so if someone could please reiterate that to him I would be most grateful. It makes me sad, I loved his short story and don't know what happened to make him mad. Someone please tell him I apologize.

I prefer the threads that are really scary, and strum that thought provoking cord within. I have always enjoyed Michael Crighton as an author, because he initially gathers his ideas from existing theories in scientific journals, and writes the fantastic from the plausible. Genious. So, "it could happen" really strikes a cord in me. Also the blatantly unexplanable causes one to wonder, and often to ponder even greater meanings of things. I think years of drug use as a radically out of control teenager contributed heavily to my mind expanding experiences. lol. These days I try and keep an open and objective demeanor, weighing all possibilities, natural and otherwise. The stories in here vary from the ridiculously absurd, to the most thought provoking topics that psuedo-intellectuallization can offer. lol. There are some terrific posts, and just as terrific people in this forum, and I am increasingly happy I found it. Have I had any flashbacks? No, but I'm hopeful. original.gif ~Jackal
