Hi I am wondering if anyone has exerienced the same as we have, or knows what it may be.

Me and my hubby exprienced for a while to be awaken by a very bright light in the middle of the night. we were shocked to discover we were both experiencing the same thing. We were living on the fifth floor, and had heavy dark blue curtains on the windows. But suddenly at night while asleep a bright light would force me to open my eyes and once opened the room was still dark. This would happen most nights for months and months. sometimes several times in a night. One day I ellected to tell my partner about it and he was shocked and told me he had experienced the same thing for a longer period of time and even before that flat. But after we moved we have not experienced it again.

I still often wonder what this could have been.

Any ideas?

If your trying to raise your post count....please... PLEASE at least say something worth saying. its easier on the eyes for all the rest of us. hmm.gif

Anyways...next time this happens you should each figure something out where you wake the other up, or ask them if they saw it at the same time you did. Thats really all i can come up with....ive never heard of anything like this before, especially if both of you are experiencing it. normally i would think it could be some sort of reaction going on in your brain while your trying to sleep, like a type of disorder. but with the both of you having them... unsure.gif

Both having the same experience suggests there was something going on. As to what it was, who knows...Could it have been a helicopter or plane headlight?

one time i was at the pub and because i like to dress strange sometimes and do weird things with my hair a big bikey guy started yellin at me. i was a little bit intoxiacated at the time.. well any way so i yelled back and he stormed over fist raised! he went to throw a punch at my face. as much as i can remember it might have made contact. but i never felt anything. just a sudden shock of white light that engulfed every thing. then when the light subsided he was stalking away muttering to himself and holding his wrists. i still dont know wat happend but i was pretty shaken up.. just maybe the white light is something looking out for you! =]

I have been searching all over the net trying to find some one who had the same experience. And finally i came across your story. I was lying next to my boyfriend one night and both our eyes were closed. There were no clouds or anything and the EXACT same thing happened to us. I saw this bright blue/white flash infront of my eyelids and it made me open my eyes. I immediatly said to him " did you see that" he said he has seen a bright white flash! What is it- its been bugging me ever since and it hasnt happened again!

I thought maybe it was static electricity because we were sleeping under a mosquito net which is very static-prone. But what on earth couldve caused such a huge light?
Noooo....smething more deep than static electricty going on.

Hi! Thanks for replying. original.gif

Kerrog, same here, have been looking for an answer to what this might be, or someone with the same experience. Not found anything though, how interresting that you also have had an experience like this!

To us this was happening a couple of years back, thinking back it still freaks us out a bit, even my boyfriend who usually is very down to earth about things thinks it must have been some ghost or angel or something unusual.
I'm not even sure whether it was happening to us at the same time or not, I do not think so because we did not wake up at the exactly same moment, otherwise we would have opened our eyes at the same time and perhaps notified each other sooner, but I started ignoring it after a while, perhaps he was allready so used to it that he did not bother reacting to it much. But when comparing notes it was the same expirience going on around the same period, but not perhaps at the same time.
And yes the light was just like that kerrog, it grew brighter and brighter until we were forced to open our eyes just a quick flash. And these experiences also held up at approximately the same time, we have not experienced this for about two years.
We dont drink or take drugs and are basically quite normal people yes.gif .

This has been happening to me for as long as I can remember. Not every night, but it isn't rare. I see a red light that hangs out at the wall towards the foot of my bed. You can see it when the lights are on, but much better when they're off. I suspect the red dots are eyes; I have seen 2 in eye symmetry, but it is usually just one. It seems like it doesn't like to be looked at because when I catch it and make eye contact it fades away.

There have been a few times when it appears to have a shadowy body to it. It seems to be benevolent.

Sometimes it seems to be more active, and I have even seen a green or yellow counterpart to it.

I think my experience is quite different to the one you here described, what I was talking about happens while asleep and eyes shut a bright light that is just pure light that fills the eyes so one must open them. The light I have experienced has no color, it is just white like a flash.

We dont take any knd of drugs either...I have gone over so many sorts of explainations in my head. I thought, being more spiritually inclined, that it could be some higher power trying to protect us. Also, i have experienced astral projection twice so perhaps it is someone from the astral plane. sounds like rubbish i know. but i seem to be out of rational answers.i thought it could be a flashlight but then we live on big grounds and theyre very private so we wouldve noticed an intruder. and the fact that it happened to you guys continually doesnt support the whole flashlight thing.

sometimes i freak myself the f**k out and wonder if we had just been returned from an alien abduction.

Hehe sorry im an artist my imagination seems to get away from me at times.

any of your thoughts would be great!

I may have an explanation. I have seen a white flash too, or sometimes it is a shadow that quickly flashes in front of my eyes while asleep that causes me to wake up. I have also noticed correlations. Almost every time after the shadow flashes in front of my eyes while asleep the phone rings by someone that I am close to.

I had a dream once where a voice said to me, "This eye was used to detect assassins." Right after I heard that I woke up and about 10 seconds later my alarm clock went off. I had not set my alarm clock to the usual time, I was sleeping in and had set it to 12:30 PM.

Thoughts. Well I have a vivid imagination too, he he. I had that alien abduction thought too, and also have thought i could be a spirit or some message, or a type of contact with the "astral plane" if you like to call it that, I did have a similar thought but didn't really have a name for it.
The thing is my boyfriend had this experiece for some time before I had it so I thought that because it happened to me especially while I was pregnant perhaps it is something connected more to him then me. But then I had a couple of very odd experiences while pregnant as well! One was waking up to a faint radio type sound, which was repetetive.I woke up and the first few times I went to the kitchen to turn the radio off, but it was not on, that freaked me out! So I started to search the house for the sourse, and never found one. It happened quite a few times, but has not happened to me before or after we moved.
Also once I had a vivid dream years ago when I was about 20 where I was lifted up by a beam of light to a ship. I met an friend there as well (who I had not seen for years, and who I never would think I would dream about) then after meeting some tiny babies we had to return, it was a beautiful dream with lots of light and the day after I felt quite uplifted, almost in a spiritual way. I am a vivid dreamer anyway, so I'm not saying I was abducted as such, but the feeling was very nice, wish I could have such a dream again. innocent.gif

I like to imagine that there is more to life then what we nessesarily can reach with our senses and I am a creative type too but also like to keep my feet to the grownd not to completely fly away rofl.gif , my boyfriend is a scientist he is quite realistic, but as a good scientist he knows that there is much we do not know about life and the world as well happy.gif ...

Aliens? maybe ghosts? dis the place have any history as such?

I would say its something spiritual, most likely something to let you know of their presence. A friend of mine was experiencing flashes and was told that it was someone who was close to them just letting them know that they are there and providing protection. I've seen flashes in my home but not when I've been asleep and have felt comforted by them also.

Hope that helps original.gif

Sounds similar to the experience I had about year ago. I went out my back door at 6am CST (still dark out) and at about 45 degrees from the horizon to the north was appeared to be the moon. There are no hills, no elevated roads in the area, nor any trees to obstruct the few. Never seeing the moon in the north, I quickly looked around the clear sky. When I returned my gaze to the "moon", it contracted until it disappeared as if it discovered me watching it. The ordeal lasted about 10 seconds. The orb was white without the usual meteor markings of the moon and I heard no sounds nor did I feel any differences in air pressure/winds. This is my first posting here, I hope nobody thinks I'm nuts or unhealthy (I had my annual checkup 2 months ago).

I was about to mention the remote possibility of ball lightning, until I read that the light had been seen repeatedly. Ball lightning is such a rare phenomenon that we can eliminate it here. In short, I don't have a clue as to what it could have been.
