Who in this forum has experienced the Night Hag? And if so, what was your worst experience? I believe I've had just about the worst of anyone.... :s4
Rae
I've heard of an Old Hag  :s2,  but not a Night Hag.

Whatever it is, it sounds awful!!!! :s4

I looked up "Night Hag" on google, and found this, if somewhat short description :

"Night hag, a witch supposed to wander in the night. ..."

I also found something about "Night Hag attacks", which seem to be some form of Psychic attack that people experience.

------------------------------------------

Night Hag Attacks

Night Hags or Mara are a really popular phenomenon nowadays, aren't they? I mean, just about everywhere I look lately people are talking about them. Don't think I ever experienced it myself, that I know of. But I do agree that it's silly to think that a night hag attack sufferer could confuse sleep apnea or other physical phenomena with a real night hag attack. It's just two different things altogether. Still, this is just the same thing as people saying psychic attacks aren't common occurrences, or people saying all people who claim they are psychic or have experienced psychic phenomena are just psychosomatically ill. What people have not experienced, they tend to disbelieve, and rationalize, and explain away. Most people are not ready to face the Real World, to borrow a phrase from Nancy Collins' Sonja Blue books :)

Well I won't say much about Night Hag attacks since most people know of them already. Basically the signs are a crushing weight on your chest, difficulty breathing, paralysis, probably a lot of fear *grin* and a feeling as though you are being drained or weakened. These attacks can be carried out by psyvamps who are able to travel astrally, or by astral psyvamps (ie. disincorporate psivamps).

---------------------------

There was also a picture of what is described as "The Night Hag visiting the Lapland Witches" :

I don't know if the Psychic attacks and the actual Night Hag witch figure are  the same thing or not.

Lord_Frieza - is it these Night Hag pychic attacks mentioned above that you have experienced ?

They sound unpleasant to say the least.  :(

Oh, and welcome to the forum by the way.  :)

I have heard of this. some say that she wants everyone to feel pain while others say that is not true. There are many assumptions to what exactly she does and HOW :si!!!

Actually this is not an uncommon occurrence. It does actually have a scientific explantion. For the most part people rarely remember the last few moments before they fall asleep or the right before they wake up. During these time periods it has been experimentally shown that much of the body is paralyzed (probably a defense mechanism left over from millions of years ago when our ancestors could be picked off by a predator). Anyway, occasionally something gets askew chemically in the brain and people are conscious during this period and remember it. It's obviously going to be terrifying to have no body movement and often times this is accompanied by a hypnopompic or hyptogognic hallucination, people think they see someone sitting on them keeping them from moving, but then the feeling passes and they are fine. They aren't "drained" or weak, just a little concerned because they don't know paralysis is (kinda) a "normal" part of waking up and going to sleep. ALl this has been tested experimentally in sleep labs....

The Old Hag syndrome is along the lines of sleep parlysis as mentioned above.

Hello..................I had a 'hag' experience.....but it wasn't a hag who came and got me. It was something vile and terrifying. I believe that it was due to some personal problems that had stressed me out and that it is just down to sleep paralysis.

I posted the following stories on here a while ago ~

I'm not sure his strategy is going to be very effective... huh.gif

I tend to agree with Hammy. And it's not always a hag that manifests in these cases. thumbsup.gif

Se the case of Ignatius the Bell Ringer...
