| Who invented the Camera? |
No one is sure who invented it.
Among the possibilities are Aristotle (c. 300 BC);
Roger Bacon, who used one to observe solar eclipses
just before the year 1300; and Arabian scholar Hassan ibn Hassan,
who in the 10th Century described what can be
called a camera obscura in his writings.

| Q: Where did the term "the whole 9 yards" come from? |
A. Well, tis a sad story of Herman Greely. Old Herman was a courageous man, a bit of a dare devil, you might say. In fact, Herman was the first person to actually try bungee jumping. Unfortunately, he was a bit near sighted. As he stood on the bridge over Shillers Canyon, he wondered how far it was to the bottom. After measuring the hight several times he decided to use the "whole nine yards" of elastic rope. (Unfortunately again, twas only eight yards to the bottom. )
Or... The gunners in WWII bombers used bullet belts that were about 27 feet long. If they had used the entire belt they would have gone "the whole nine yards."

A. I would imagine that Adam discovered gravity the first time he tripped over a rock. Quite shocking event, that.
The discovery of gravity is usually attributed to Isaac Newton. However, he was just a part of it. Copernicus first theorized of some force must exist that holds things (such as celestial bodies) in place. Galileo then determined that the mass of an object dictates the strength of this force. It was about eighty years after Galileo that Newton put forth the universal inverse square law of gravity. (He did this while eating an apple that bonked him on the head, some say… )
