The dwarves song, Sung by Thorin

============================

Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away ere the break of day
To seek the pale enchanted gold

The dwarves of yore made mighty spells,
While hammers fell like ringing bells
In places deep, where dark things sleep,
In hollow halls beneath the fells.

For ancient kings and elven lords
There many a gleaming golden hoard
They shaped and wrought, and light they caught
To hide in gems on hilt of sword.

On silver necklaces they strung
The flowering stars, on crowns they hung
The dragon-fire, on twisted wire
They meshed the light of moon and sun.

Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away ere the break of day
To claim our long-forgotten gold.

Goblets they carved there for themselves
And harps of gold; where no man delves
There lay they long, and many a song
Was sung unheard by men and elves.

The pines were roaming on the height,
The winds were moaning in the night.
The fire was red, it flamming spread;
The trees like torches blazed with light.

The bells were ringing in the dale
And men looking up with faces pale;
Then dragon's ire more fierce than fire
Laid low their towers and houses frail.

The mountain smoked beneath the moon;
The dwarves, they heard the tramp of doom.
They fled their halls to dying fall
Beneath his feet, beneath the moon.

Far over the misty mountains grim
To dungeons deep and caverns dim
We must away ere the break of day
To win our harps and gold from him!

Now try these:
Q. identify the singer

There is an inn, a merry old inn
Beneath an old grey hill,
And there they brew a beer so brown
That the Man in the Moon himself came down
One night to drink his fill.

~

Old fat spider spinning in a tree!
Old fat spider can’t see me!

~

To the sea, to the sea! The white gulls are crying,
The wind is blowing, and the white foam is flying.

~

Cold be hand and heart and bone,
And cold be sleep under stone:
Never more to wake on stony bed,
Never, till the Sun fails and the Moon is dead.

~

Troll sat alone on his seat of stone,
And munched and mumbled a bare old bone.

~

The dragon is withered,
His bones are now crumbled;
His armour is shivered,
His splendour is humbled!

~

When Spring unfolds the beechen leaf and sap is in the bough;
When light is on the wild-wood stream, and wind is on the brow;
When stride is long, and breath is deep, and keen the mountain-air,
Come back to me! Come back to me, and say my land is fair!

"As they rode down the steep path, Bilbo heard the elves still singing in the trees, as if they had not stopped since he left; and as soon as the riders came down into the lower glades of the wood they burst into song of much the same kind as before. This is something like it:

QUOTE
Early one morning, just as the sun was rising,
I heard ...

a maid sing in the valley below.
"Oh, don't deceive me, oh, never leave me,
How could you use a poor maiden so?"

[ "O gay is the garland, fresh are the roses
I've culled from the garden to bind on thy brow.
O don't deceive me,
O do not leave me!
How could you use a poor maiden so? ]1

Remember the vows that you made to your Mary,
Remember the bow'r where you vowed to be true.
"Oh, don't deceive me, oh, never leave me.
How could you use a poor maiden so!"

[ Thus sung the poor maiden, her sorrow bewailing,
Thus sung the poor maid in the valley below;
"O don't deceive me!
O do not leave me!
How could you use a poor maiden so?"]1

Dragunai
The meaning of life is different co-dependant on your xesistance and what you are.

Animals exsist to exsist, they don't have a meaning other than to live, Breed and eat.

Humans again have nuermoues reason, Religion, Family work. What ever.

The truth being?

There is no meaning of life.
Lottie
The meaning of life only has meaning to each individual.
Dragunai
Therefore there isn't one is there?
Only individual "Definitions", these isn't any single meaning!!!
Janiel
the meaning of live...well it's more like a game, see, u have to live but when you die then it's game over and you lose...
BurnSide
haha, i don't think anyone looses, that would make life quite redundant.
but there is no superficial 'meaning' to life in my opinion. is there a meaning to a crocodiles life? well, yes there is, BREEDING.
we are all here because we are animals and we strive to pass on our seed to a new generation and then die, same as all living things, including plants.

Here is another link for Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu. It is is the Maori (language) placename of an otherwise unremarkable hill which is 305 metres high, near Mangaorapa and close to Porangahau, south of Waipukurau, between Hastings and Dannevirke, in southern Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. The placename is often shortened to Taumata by the locals for ease of conversation.
