Where is the vowel in that? It's also spelt incorrectly.

In rhythm, the 'y' is the vowel. English is like that - it bends it's own rules to suit itself.

djdodo: The longest word with one vowel(not repeated) is strengths(9), and not rhythm. The words psychorhythms (13), polyrhythms (11) and rhythmless (10) are longer, but each uses the letter 'y' as a vowel.

That's a tricky question, cause the answer isn't a name of a person, but rather a name of people, since it happened so long ago no one remembers that man who actually invented it

.
Anyhow, the first people to brew the first beer were the Sumerians of ancient Mesopotamia (modern Iraq), some 6,000 years ago, around 4,000BC

what is the significance of the dates: 6 April 1917 and 8 December 1941?
Falco Rex
Jan 8 2005, 05:13 PM
Okay. Let's answer the first question before it's lost. Minos' Daughter was Ariadne. The island was Crete. And the palace at Knossos was famous for it's labyrinth which supposedly contained Minos' gods-cursed son the minotaur. Or if you're going just on history it was famous for it's running water plumbing and it's flush toilets...phew!* That should cover it..
So..Who was the mythical inventor who supposedly designed the Labyrinth?

what is the significance of the dates: 6 April 1917 and 8 December 1941?

April 6, 1917 - World War I: United States declares war on Germany.
December 8, 1941 - World War II: After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor the previous day, the U.S. Congress passes a declaration of war against Japan, bringing the United States of America officially into World War 2; Congresswoman Jeannette Rankin casts the only "no" vote. In response,
Hitler's Germany declares war on the United States.
Probably meant that ^ ...
But in an eerie coincidence, something else happened on December 8, 1941:
December 8, 1941 - Holocaust: First Nazi use of gas vans on Jews, at the Chelmno camp near Lodz.
