I was thinking the same thing. An apricot miniature poodle that has been groomed. Think about what you saw. Could this have been it?

Hey put some pants on that dog! ohmy.gif lol
A lion wouldn't have a mane when it's a cub but maybe it was an escaped genetic experiment
(if they could create mini animals you know they would make a fortune $$$!!!)

We have a Dog (lab mix) that is fairly small, and has a mane. He is very cute, and i suppose could be mistaken for a lion if you were not sure of what you were seeing. Just today i was driving home and i swear i saw out of the corner of my eye a gigantic bird with a 10 foot wingspan flying low. When i turned to look, it was a helicopter. When you don't know exactly what it is your seeing, your mind has a way of messing with you. I suppose i should mention i was exhausted and close to nodding off at the time.

Oh, well your explanation is so much more feasible.

Maybe it was a chow. they do have manes, and some are blond colored like a lion.

Maine Coon. It's a breed of cat. It's also known for it's "mane". In which case you should have stopped and half-inched it. They're beautiful cats, and very expensive sad.gif

The A77 is a major road, and IIRC a dual carriageway which means you'd be going an average speed of at least 70mph. How do you see something the size of a puppy and instantly know it's a lion!? dontgetit.gif
