Watchful
I wonder if you all have experienced this. This happened twice. It could be nothing. The first time I noticed this, was more than three years ago, when I was still living in military housing in Jersey. This happened at night, and I think I was heading back to my house from someone else's in my court. As I was advancing toward the building I noticed a big square of bluish light on the building itself. I though it was the effect of a spot light from the building next to it. I looked over to the backyard of the building next to us, because I hear people talking in the backyard there, but I couldn't find the source of where the light was coming from. It looked like the light was shining from a spotlight that was higher up, and didn't notice anything like that from the backyard next door. It looked like one of the squarish bluish lights that is associated with filming or watching a film. Does anyone know what I mean by this? Quickly the light was gone, and I thought it turned off. Now, the bluish light was on the house that has had various events happen to it, that I have experienced. One of those events being the doorslam, when we couldn't figure out what door slammed. I thought nothing of it, and didn't think about it until just recently.
It was on a very recent morning here in the house I live in now. I was coming downstairs after waking up for the day, and it was still dark outside. So as I was coming downstairs, getting ready to turn the lights on there, I noticed that same bluish light color, in the shape of a square but small, much smaller, on the wall near the front door. This puzzled me, since I really do not know where the lightsource would be coming from. There was no car passing by to have headlights reflect of into the house. It was all dark downstairs, and was very close to the floor on the wall. It too quickly went out, that I wasn't sure what it could be, since I was still descending the stairway. Now, this light was occuring in the very hallway that my dog use to bark at all the time.
By the way, he doesn't bark at that area anymore. Although, now on some days, when I'm alone, I would hear the doorknob rattle, or the screen door open in close, that I would think it's one of my family coming home, but when I get to the door, no one is there! I have never read, seen, or heard anything in other paranormal records about this, but I am wondering if any of you have heard of this, and if you have, what could it be. Any thoughts?
Episteme
Initially it sounded like some strange military thing, weird lights wouldn't surprise me in a place like that. But inside the house with no apparent source, that's just odd.

Square blue lights, I imagine the blue light you might see on a wall when using one of those old projectors we used back in school, with the big film rolls? Might look similar to the light from a slide projector? Am I close?

How often did the light appear on the wall in your house, and how long did it stay once you had spotted it?
NoahJaymes
Personally have never heard of a blue square type light. I tried looking it up, nothing of relevance. I do not think it has anything to do with the military(No episteme this was not a dig at you, please do not take it as such). I also do not think it has anything to do with your mental state, or even your eyes. Might want to check up on area history to get a better feel for the place.

Sounds more like alien abduction to me than paranormal. You might have some little green men following you around. Like a hamster in a cage they watch you. If you believe in that sorta thing...heh.

You might trying asking this in the UFO forum on this website.

When I googled this, a bunch of UFO links did come up...she might be on to something.

I agree with you, and not thought of that about things happening on a military base. There have been numerous things that I have noticed there, that is wierd. This light happened to me once, and it was quite big. You are very close to the description of the old projectors. Thank you, that is it. It was one light, a big one on the base and one in this house, but it was much smaller, and also this happened once. It was just as square and the same light as the other one.

Actually, I do have some some history of the house, thanks to some of my nice neighbors. Our house was built in 1968, and the building of it was witnessed by one set of neighbors who lives about a couple of houses down from us. There are some strange floor plan differences, yet we haven't heard of any one dieing on the place. There is really nothing of anything that was tragic that happened, and it is mainly a woodsy area, that was backhoed to create land on a very hilly area. The only thing that gets me, was various bits of interesting information of our previous house occupants, though I'm not sure if this is part of this or not.

Now, I find this interesting that you mentioned and asked this.
here and here.

And what I found strange with me, is that even though I did a lot of internet searching while living the nine years there, I didn't find this out until well after living a couple of years later in my new home.
The thing is, if this is UFO related, how come a smaller version is happening inside of my home now?

I'm not sure about the light at the base, but the light in your home may just be moonlight reflecting off of an object or coming in through a window (the light being smaller inside and being square in shape seems to suggest this). Also, a bluish light suggests moonlight. I hope this is helpful to you

Hmm. It's best to assume more logical explanations than making conclusions with irrational explanations. Ever think that it could be some kind of psychological issue? Perhaps you were seeing things, and hearing things? :\ Or, as another user has suggested, it could have just been the moonlight.

You know, that could be. Sometimes the moon's light does filter through into the house a lot. I believe that it was still dark, that early morning. Also, it could have been the tailend of the place it was in to cast such a shadow. Although, even though it was smaller in size, the light is so simular to the one on the base, and I think the moon was not out during that night.

You know, as the type of person with the varying experiences I have had, I will not discount that. I have yet to have an experience that would come across as having hallucinations or the like, (though I will also not discount the 'there is always a first time' theory wink2.gif ) Meaning, it wasn't like my behavior didn't spark a opposing point of view to make someone else think I'm seeing things. On the other hand, I tend to see words spelled differently at first glance, and I tend to react very strongly to things too. To put it this way in reply, I will not discount that either. It is something I will refect and study on. Thank you, that is a thought too.
(Then again, will someone who has phychological issues understand and agree that they might have any?? grin2.gif rofl.gif )

This gave me a chuckle, maybe everyone just needs a disclaimer in their sig lines nowadays. You'd have to try harder than that to offend me, Enjay. wink2.gif

As it is, I wouldn't think the military was experimenting with any equipment inside his house, which is why it was just my initial reaction. Around the military base in Charleston we hear of all kinds of reports of strange lights, sounds, and UFOs. I've yet to see any reports of things going on inside people's houses, besides the usual "haunted" locations.

You are seemingly rational, Watchful. These were some strange experiences and you're just trying to get some answers, I don't see any digging for a paranormal explanation. I don't totally discount the UFO theory, though in my opinion a likely source of most genuine experiences is government rather than ETs. I wouldn't be too worried after seeing a couple of lights, but it's an interesting thought. I'd be waiting for it to happen again, and give the area a good search. (And let us know if you find anything!!)

Well, for one, I think I must let people know, the house I live in now, is a couple states away, with no military base close by.
But you are hitting something there, with your thoughts of UFO encourters on bases, Episteme. Of the nine years there that I lived on the base, I have experienced some things, that seem incredibly unexplainable, and almost like it could be directed as a UFO or alien experience or something. Some years back, in that court, we all noticed a circular spot in the grassy area in the middle of the four courts. It was fully circular sized at about 12 to 15 feet in circumfrance. The grass inside looked like it was bent aside and not mowed, like someone I know on the base had suggested to me. I then wondered why there wasn't any tracks of the mower. It almost looked like a crop circle. And it just showed up on a morning, with no one remembering it being there the day before. We all thought that it was wierd.
Some years later, this was around February of 1998, I had awaken in the middle of the night. It was just me, not anything else. At this time, my husband was TDY, (I'm a she, Episteme wink2.gif ) and I had put my kids to bed in my bed without realizing that there wasn't any more room for me, so I ended up sleeping in my daughter's bed. I awoke in the middle of the night feeling like I had a deep and full rested sleep. I figured it was because of my daughter's bed. I just lounged in the bed there, just reflecting when I heard something. Now of course, on an Air Force base, we would always hear military planes flying overhead at all times of the day and night. I am so used to how they sound, that I am familiar to them and whether if they are high, low, and their distance to the housing area. Usually the engine roar is a bit loud, and it takes them some time to fly over head and then veer off to the runway or vice versa. The sound I ended up hearing that night was different. It was quieter and even though it started like it was coming from a great distance, it came over the house fast and the sounded faded away fast. Already I felt that something was not usual about this thing flying overhead. The rumbling sound was quieter and wouldn't make quite a racket, like the loud sounds of the planes. But the strangest thing was, I could tell it was big. As the sound went over the house, everything in the house rattled, like something very big passed overhead. As soon as that happened, that is when the sound quickly dissapated and stopped. All this time, I'm still lieing in my daughter's bed. Usually, even when it is the usual military plane, no matter where it is in the sky, and what time of the day or night it is, I still go and look out the window for curiosity's sake. This time, something held me in that bed. It was like I was too nervous to get up and look out and that I would be sorry if I did. Later on, while talking to a friend and a neighbor in a court next to ours, I had asked her if she had seen or heard the thing, since she told me she was up late that night. She said she heard what I heard, and heard it over my house, but when she went to the window to look out, she couldn't see anything.
I don't know if this has anything to do with the two different square lights I have witnessed, but I felt compelled to mention these experiences, since UFO's were mentioned as a possibility. Could I be a carrier or some kind of conductive source of energy or something? Wierd to ask this in this way, but I'm not worried about the lights. I am just insanely curious if anyone has seen something like this before. In my paranormal experience, with mind and others, in the non-virtual world and the forum here, there always seem to be some simular characteristics of ghosts, sightings and environment. You know what I mean?
