Metallica - Fade to Black

Life, it seems, will fade away,
Drifting further every day,
Getting lost within myself,
Nothing matters no one else,
I have lost the will to live,
Simply nothing more to give,
There is nothing more for me,
Need the end to set me free

Things not what they used to be,
Missing one inside of me,
Deathly lost, this can't be real,
Cannot stand this hell I feel,
Emptiness is filling me,
To the point of agony,
Growing darkness taking dawn,
I was me, but now he's gone

No one but me can save myself, but it's too late,
Now I can't think, think why I should even try

Yesterday seems as though it never existed,
Death greets me warm, now I will just say goodbye

I want mine to be:

Dont stop me now - Queen
The show must go on - Queen
Another one bites the dust - Queen

And then have a huge party with loads of alcohol....or not...
Thisisnotmyname
Probably something really dark and anguished, like Emperor. Just to freak out the old people.
Lady_Boleyn
Mine would be "Take Me Home Country Roads" by John Denver.

I'm a country girl, and that describes it perfectly.
Promethius
Megadeth - A tout la monde

I want my funeral to be a casual affair, just turn up in jeans and a T-shirt at about four... that sort of thing... possibly a buffet and bar...

I'm imagining myself at a funeral where that song starts playing..... I then start imagining myself rolling on the floor laughing.....

I dont want tears - only laughter at my funeral, so I'll be greedy and have 3:

The opening theme song to Enterprise - the first few lines should be very appropriate!

Bat out of hell - Meatloaf (A favourite from day 1 of its release)

and finally:- Bikini Girls with Machine guns! Complete with MTV Video - (name of group escapes me for the moment) w00t.gif

My wife recently told me she wants the song Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole. She loves the song so much, always makes her feel so calm and at peace.

I know which one you're talking about..... I love that one. original.gif

Dust in the Wind performed by Will Ferrell.

"You're my boy Blue! You're my boy..." crying.gif

Yes!! w00t.gif I love it!!

Now that I've commented on everyone else's choices, here are my own:

'Valentine's Day - Linkin Park' at the beginning, so everyone can get their cry out....

Then, (I'm sorry, I have to steal this one from you Illuminaughty) 'Dust in the Wind' sung by Will Ferrell, with the part of Old School where he's singing it playing on a big screen in the background, just to lighten things up a bit.

Taking a Ride with my Best Friend by DePeche Mode.

Never Let Me Down Again is a nice song.

For my funeral I want a pianist to play Chopin's Piano Sonata no 2 in B flat minor, Op 35

Queen.

I want people who knew me best to get together and do a perfect rendition of Metallica's Orion. Failing that, they can just play it over some speakers. Yes, the whole song. Then again, I could use It Took The Night to Believe by Sunn O))) to scare off everyone I wouldn't want there anyway. Alternatively, Nosferatu OR Arc-Lite by Coroner would be a good way to go, especially for the general burial.

If I wanted something to sum up my life, though, it'd have to be Orion or Sexual for Elizabeth by Five Deez. No, I'm not in love with an Elizabeth, I can just gaze into eternity when I hear that song...

If you've got no problem dying, there shouldn't be a problem planning your funeral extensively. Which is why I'm going in a KISS coffin! wub.gif

Made me hate how he was a money destroying a*** and I want his house... Sort of a KISS fan though. Not too much, but I'd still happily be buried in their KISS coffin!

I've asked for "Stayin' Alive". It's the song my current boyfriend and I jokingly picked as "our" song after realising we didn't have one, but mostly I just think that having that playing at my funeral accurately sums up my personality.

Somewhere -- Barbra Streisand

Someday, somewhere
We'll find a new way of living
Will find a way of forgiving
Somewhere...
There's a place for us
Somewhere a place for us
Peace and quiet and open air
Wait for us
Somewhere
There's a time for us
Someday there'll time for us
Time together and time to spare
Time to learn, time to care
Someday, somewhere
We'll find a new way of living
Will find there's a way of forgiving
Somewhere...
There's a place for us
A time and place for us
Hold my hand and we're half way there
Hold my hand and I'll take you there
Somehow...
Someday, somewhere...

This is an interesting topic i actually have a word document on this PC with the songs i? i'd? want played at my funeral.
Not that i'm expecting to die anytime soon jeez i'm only 18, more or less i did from intense boredom and something to look back on when i'm older when i search through the endless abyss of files stored on this PC.
Anyway back to the topic at hand.
In no particular order:

Agalloch - The Hawthorne Passage (instrumental)
-Is an instrumental that Sounds like a journey if that makes sense (it does to me).
It has two short sound clips slipped somewhere in its 11:17 duration one from the Swedish movie 'The Seventh Seal' and
the other from a mexican movie 'Fando y Lis' regarding passing on.

Amon Amarth - Runes to My Memory
-Is a fairly brutal song in the format of "viking death metal" Its about dying in battle on foreign soil and being remembered basically.
The song tells a tale of a man that Even after being mortally wounded he fought on and as he clutches his sword waiting for his imminent demise and
remembers those back home.
This one has more symbolic meaning to me more than anything else i don't exactly want to go down with a spear in my back nor from a violent conflict at that laugh.gif
More so to me its about living and staying true to what you believe in regardless the situation.

Dream Theater - Overture 1928 (instrumental)
A change of seasons
-Overture 1928 because it sounds like a great transition in life and none is greater than leaving the world of the living and joining the ranks of the deceased.
-A change of seasons because the whole song is themed around life and the journey until death through the ups and downs
by the end he is where he at the place he started only difference is his dying but with a son to carry on his legacy as he tells his son
not to cry that he will live on.

Megadeth - A tout le monde
"So as you read this know my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Please smile when you think of me
My body's gone that's all
A tout le monde (To all the world)
A tout mes amis (To all my friends)
Je vous aime (I love you)
Je dois partir (I have to leave)
These are the last words
I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free"
The lyrics say it all.

Anyway thats all i can think of.
If theres any bad grammar excuse it i'm still going from an all nighter getting a bit drowsy =P.

Fin.
