A few months back, my friends and I were playing a form of tag. I can't remember exactly what we were doing, but it involved squirt guns. We were yelling and running around in house, and to avoid being caught, I hid in the small metal contraption (I don't know what its called) by the basement window of my room (see picture of what it looked like below.) I hid in there, out of breath, and surprisingly tired. They were hunting around and yelling; one of them walked right past the hole I was hiding in, but didn't see me.

I sat in there for about ten more minutes, things had definitely grown more quiet. I emerged from my hiding spot to look around, hoping I wouldn't be caught and squirted on spot. I ran out to our car for cover (it is a large green van), and I opened the door to find my younger sister sitting there, tied up with some thin jackets we had in the car, and some sort of rope thing; she had a cloth stuffed in her mouth.

I was certainly surprised to find her like that. I figured that one of our friends must have done it during some course of the game while I was hiding. I helped her get untied, and to my surprise, she started laughing at me. "So, why did you tie me up?" she asked.

That was an eyebrow raising question to me, because I was hiding the whole entire time. I told her, "Meg, I have been hiding this whole entire time."

We argued about it for a little while, and suddenly she got this serious look on her face and glared at me. "Stop lying to me! You tied me up in there, and I'm going to go tell mom!"

She had absolutely no reason to lie about this, she is a very honest girl, and hasn't been known to twist the truth. She seemed quite serious about it. I told her to prove that it was me. She went and got one of our friends and told me that she had been nearby when I supposedly tied my sister up in the car, and was watching the whole thing. She isn't one to lie either, she is older and respectable.

Here I was, faced with two people who swore to God that I had tied Meg up in the car. I was very perplexed and worried; and I wasn't one to believe in supernatural things, either. I had no idea what had happened. To this day, they both swear that I tied her up in the car. I even promised to them that I hadn't, and showed them where I had been hiding the whole time.

It got worse later, but that's a different story.

Any idea what might have happened? Did I climb out of my hiding spot, tie up my sister in the car, and totally forget about all of it, or is there something a little more paranormal going on?

Lord help them if I find out they've been lying all these months.

Hmmm... some points coming to my mind:

That you actually left that window, tied your sister in a complex way, while being spotted by a friend and are not able to remember it is unlikely. Especially if you vividly remember being in your hiding place.

That your sister and a friend mix you up with somebody else, especially from such a close distance is very unlikely.

They might be pulling a prank on you - or you might be pulling a prank on us.

Someone told me about the whole 'Doppelganger' thing. I'm debating about whether or not to believe it. I'm a little bit skeptical about paranormal things such as that; though about ten people have told me that that's what it probably was.

I'll assure and promise you that I am most definitely not joking around about this; and I don't think that they are either.

I don't know your sister, but there's no way my sister would allow me to tie her up without a fight. And she certainly wouldn't be laughing when I untied her. I would suspect the friend tied her up and they wanted to see how far they could go with the "gag" (nyuk).

We were usually honest with eachother, but there was a time or two when we went a bit too far. I probably would have gave her the silent treatment and pretended to be angry for a day or two until she fessed up.

But that's just us. I don't know you, your sis, or your friend. I can only go by personal experience. But I hope you get it figured out, it's a head scratcher for sure!

Your sister was tied up in a van? wtf? lol, it sounded like she was about to get kidnapped or something.

I agree with Episteme also. Was there any sign of struggle when she was getting tied up? You know how kids are, they can't sit still lol.

that was the first thing that came to my mind also! the Doppelganger! i was just reading about them the other day. but hard to say wether or not they are real. your luky you were in the hiding the whole time if ur doppleganger was out there. its said to be certain death if u come face to face with your mirror soul.

though i do remember at skool once in graphics class i was talking to a friend then i went to talk back to my desk, then i was there. and someone in the room all of a sudden yelled out "HEY WHO TOOK ALL MY GRAPHICS EQUIPTMENT!!!?!" and strangly enough i had it all bundled up in my arms with no memory of even grabbing it!

There is a possibility that you fell asleep while you were hiding, you could be a "natural astral projector" but even so your astral body would have to obtain an abnormal amount of energy to manifest itself and interact with the physical world....there have been reports of people who naturally obtain this type of energy and whose spiritual counterpart can be seen and felt by people...if this is the case , you have a rare gift but beware, your spiritual body could display a side of you that you never knew you had...

wow so mystical,anyways that does sound realy wierd im thnking im gonna go with the doppleganger idea
