the coyote
I danced with him, my lupine love,
in fields of green and white.
I ran with him, my wolfen boy,
through shadows of the night.
And when the moon did cast her rays,
we both reveled her in glow,
he loved me twice in nights and days,
as wolf, then man, my beau.
I sang with him, my silver prince,
on the banks of rivers cold.
I played with him, my beastly heart,
until we both grew old.
And when they came with weapons fraught,
onto our happy house,
with speech of sins and bloody thoughts,
they killed my garou spouse.
I watched with him, my hapless pup,
as they tore our love asunder,
I think of him, my lycan love,
when'er I hear the coming thunder.

I wrote this AND came up with a whole backstory on the 'author' of it for the online character journal I create. I just thought I'd share the poem since some of you guys really do seem to enjoy poetry. I'm generally not good with poetry - I stick to novel type writing - but I am not so unhappy with this. The link to the aforementioned journal is below. Thanks everyone!
