Hi , space-cadets.
I"ve been reading a thread related to black holes & read that, "time stops on the event horizon".
This lead to me wondering: If there"s no time & a BH keeps on hoovering up matter, could that BH possibly
reach a critical mass, maybe implode then explode ?
The result could be that , "there was nothing, then BANG!", a new born universe. Big Bang theory.
Any intelligent life arrising in that universe could have no concept of what came before.
Is it scientifically possible that this is how our universe came into being ?
Ooh, my head hurts now ! grin2.gif

The big bang wasn't an explosion, it was the expansion of space itself. thumbsup.gif

if space is infinite, how can anyone really say it started or has to end, could it be that there are big bang's happening all the time all over. maybe that's the result of a black hole or what happens to one. we really need to get beyond what we can see and or explain.

As far as we can tell, space isn't infinite.

that's easy, prove it lol. as the earth is flat, the sun revolves around the earth, the stars are only so far away, then you see the hubble deep field view and there are more galaxies thne then there are sands on earth. so how you you measure small or large, that can't even be done because no matter what scale you use there is always something bigger or smaller. however, as far as we can ever know, we may never.

Thanks for replying "Raptor X7".
I know that i"m asking the ultimate question ie: where did the universe & everything in it come from ?
If space was there to expand in the first place, where did that come from ?
Maybe Black Hole after Black Hole to infinity ? Thats what i"m asking.
BTW I"m no Bible freak! I"ve just finished reading ,"The God Delusion", by Richard Dawkins.
That book just confirmed my thoughts.

Thats my point ! thumbsup.gif

I've always felt there was more than 1 big bang. The only evidence I can think of off hand for this that all the galaxies are racing outward, The farther away they are the faster they move. Moving toward what I wonder?
