New Delhi - (UPI) - A man in Dispur, India, claims he was beaten and robbed by his fiancee less than a month before his wedding for hiding the fact he is bald.

Prabir Das, 33, told police someone gave away his secret to his fiancee, who suddenly turned on him at a family dinner. Das said the woman tore off his hairpiece and began pummeling him and insulting him and that her family joined in.

The hairpiece was torn to shreds and Das said his would-be in-laws took his wallet, mobile phone, motorbike and driving license as a "penalty" for hiding his baldness.

Police haven't filed any charges but said the Dec. wedding appears to have been called off.

LOL, yes. poor guy...but, look what he gets for lying. Like his wife wouldn't have been furious with him for tricking her into marriage? If you can't be totally honest with each other before the ceremony, don't expect a great marriage.

I think they were both a little nutty. If he couldn't be honest with a woman he asked to marry him, and she is so violent, even if she did catch him keeping things from her...completely nuts.

Because this was Delhi... dollars to donuts, this was an arranged marriage. She may have only met him once or twice, if that.

She and her family probably shouldn't have robbed him though... that'll make finding her another fiancee rather difficult I'd assume. Being an unmarried woman in India isn't exactly trivial.

You can't hide that for long....but her and her parents went to extremes on his now sorry ass.

And what if the guy was just plain embarrased being bald....Heck, it would have been better for her to reject him then, instead of the family going haywire on the guy...There are alot of sexy bald headed guys out there..

The vanity of some men

Excuse me, but what about the vanity of the bride? And her family? Their vanity pushed them to violence, just because they didn't want her to be married to a bald guy. I mean, that was obviously why he got a hairpiece in the first place, because he was going to marry a woman from a very domineering family and he knew it.

And if it wasn't an arranged marriage, it must have been a damned good hairpiece to keep her fooled for any amount of time

First, i think that must have been one great hair piece for her not to have noticed it wasn,t his real hair! Second, starting out your relationship on lies is something that would anger me too, if he lied about such a small thing as that i wouldn,t be able to trust him on anything! However i think showing him the door would have been good enough, and attacking him and stealing his property was more than an over reaction! Mabey he,s the lucky one for narrowly escaping what sounds like one very crazy family to say the least!

Yeah, maybe he should get while the going's good!
