Comes out 1-18-08. The new trailer doesn't give a whole lot more info than the teaser.
It seems to be a lot more than just a monster movie.
Any ideas?
Full Version: Cloverfield
Im not sure how this is gonna turn out, the people involved with it are all great and stuff...but its probably going to either go over everyones heads (like most episodes of lost, most are great but a few are just an hour or mystery..in the bad way)...
But I have high hopes that this is going to be THE defining monster flick...i hope it haz aliens...thats a win no matter how good the movie is ..

This looks awesome. I don't get much into movies, I enjoy going but don't really get excited, but the mystery behind this one has lured me in. In the new trailer you see a bit of a big greenish creature at one point for a split second, when the army guys are shooting. I think it's a monster movie, but the focus will mainly be on the people behind the video cameras. Instead of following the monster like in most movies, we're following what the survivors are going through and how it feels to be on the receiving end, kinda like the Blair Witch Project. Either way, can't wait. That scene of the Statue of Liberty's head flying through the air and crashing to the ground looked really well done.
That's the problem. The Lost producers are really good at cliff hangers. I sure hope they don't cliff hang the creatures in this movie.

Reading some of the blogs and forums about the movie ome people think it's giant isopod (sea lice). There is some science to it in that really DEEP ocean nets have caught isopods the size of pigs.
Along similar lines, other ideas include a giant isopod along with a number of smaller isopods (offspring?) coming ashore in Manhattan. In the new trailer you see airforce jets dropping bombs in the streets of Manhattan. Don't see any large monsters around so what are they bombing? And there is a scene where it appears a woman is either a) being attacked by two large creatures, or,
two people (military?) in bio-suites are trying to restrain a woman and she seems to be about to burst from the inside.
A lot of other little odd stuff too. But remember that Lost had tons of clues in all episodes and many others scattered around the web. Who knows what is real or not.

i love Lost, and hopefully Cloverfield will not dissapoint!!!!
