When Adam Paoletic popped the question he picked his bride-to-be's favourite spot — a Tim Hortons coffee shop.

Thursday, the two took their love for each other — and for the chain's brew — to a new level, swapping marriage vows at a Tim's in Winnipeg.

To outsiders the union may seem strange, but Paoletic says everything about the coffee-and-doughnut outlet made it easy to start their lives together.

He even dropped off a letter at the northeast Winnipeg location's drive-through requesting to use the store as their wedding venue.

"They called me back the very next day, and they were good with the idea, so they've been great," Paoletic said.

Paoletic, 30, wore a smart dark suit while bride Jennifer Smith, 23, was cloaked in a formal white dress and veil. Several dozen wedding guests and customers feasted on doughnuts and sipped coffee as the two exchanged "I dos."

It wouldn't be much different to being married at McDonalds! The food's fresher is all.

Mhmm, Tim Hortens. Wait, how much did they have to pay to rent out a Tim Hortens? Could regular customers still go in or was it guests allowed in only?

No woman should laugh at the guy proposing....I know my sister yelled and swore at my now brother-in-law. He would get all drunked up and then ask her to marry him. He finally asked her when he was sober and they eloped the next day.

And a funeral there? eeewwww, no Tim bits for me!
kenshinx
better laugh+"yes" than "NO" grin2.gif grin2.gif grin2.gif

The Timmy's that hosted the blessed event is just down the street from my house. My Mom and her husband were invited but didn't go due to illness. We spent the day before laughing at the whole idea!

The groom's mom is friends with my Mom. Anyway, I guess they both worked at Timmy's and met there. Then they would spend thier time there so it was like a second home to them. I suppose stranger wedding have taken place!

What are the odds that a member of Um has first hand knowldege of this? LMAO! That's too funny.

That's what I thought too when I read it!

Like I said, we were all sitting around the day before laughing at the idea then, bam, it's all over the news! They were on the front page of the Winnipeg Free Press and interviewed on CBC radio. Crazy.

We're still pretty sure this was a total copout on a real wedding. They said on the radio that they would have a real wedding sometime in the future.

It could have been, but also knowing that they couldn't have all the workers at their wedding, because someone would have to man the store, they had it so that they could share it with everyone there. I hope that is what they were thinking, at least!
Relle
Me too. I really wish my Mom went!
