I think iv brought this up a few times on here, im not sure if its the right forum i'll move it if neccesary.

well as you can see in my sig that I once ate a leaf of belladonna (deadly Nightshade) as a youngster, as a toddler just walking around grabbing things and eating them at will. My mother had a deadly nightshade in a pot by the kitchen window (not knowing it was one of the most lethal flora knowen) so young and uncaring as i was i picked a leaf and put it in my mouth chewing it up to a gooey moosh.

I musn't have liked the taste so i discarded off the green yukky stuff, which is when mum found me lying on the ground a pale purple and coverd in a spotty purple rash, my pupils dilated and have spazm'ish seizurs. (she didnt notice the green guey moosh near by)

Mum rushed me to the nearest Hospital (as close to death as I was) all the docters nurses and even the poison specialists had no idea what was wrong with me. and no one knew I had eaten the leaf, so unable to prescribe anything to cure me the computer beep thing soon went flatline and I was dead.

While dad was sittin at home praying (my family is a very religeous family), and mum by me at the hostpital, they both suddenly felt a huge surge of energy (I know they both felt it because we have talked about this event numerouse times) and at that moment of the energy surge that dad felt at home and mum felt in the hospital room, Life was restored to little me.

The BellaDonna was used in ancient times, extracting the oils and using them as eye drops would dilate pupils of the women, thus making them appear beautiful wich is were the plant got the name BellaDonna, wich means Beautifull women in greek i think! ^^

also to this day if i drink an energy drink or get over excited my pupils will take up most of my eye leaving me with large black eyes scaring my friends and having bouncers at club doors asking how many pills i'v done -.-

You can die and be resuscitated again, sure. But that doesn't mean you're a zombie or still dead.

Also, lots of people's pupils will dilate after having any stimulant.

Sounds like you had a Near Death Experience though, which is about as close as one can get and talk about it, so you are rather lucky. Some people can recall their NDE's... My wife had an accident when she was about 5 and had a NDE, she recalls it to this day.

My eyes look over dilated all the time...because they are. I have underdeveloped pupils, which I didn't even know existed until I went to see if I was a good candidate for lasik eye surgery. I'm pretty near-sighted, and wanted to get it fixed, but was told that if I were to have the surgery, I would always see halos around lights. The reason being that my pupils are larger than most, and that too much light travels through them (which apparently also makes eyesight diminish) and that this is really not uncommon.

My eyes are gray, but sometimes it is hard to tell because my pupils dominate the entire iris.

Just throwing that out there regarding your oversized pupils.

Sammeh I think that you have created a little 'mythology' about yourself which you think gives you an interesting angle. We all do that in certain ways - just yours is a little more extreme!

I like the story though - you should develop it into a little short story or something

do you think having the NDE (near death experience) would have given me well. not so much an ability but, like somehow kind of like being able to see things that arnt realy there. or are there but... in other dimentions or something?? because I realy have seen some weird things in my life time.

Nearly every part of the Belladonna plant harbors extreme potency, including the berries and seeds. Quite franky, for your (estimated) body weight at the time, i'm suprised you lived. Nightshade in ANY form is nothing to be messed with, even at carefully calculated recreational doses. Ingestion of course is potentially fatal but another deadly factor is that it's mind altering to the extent of producing crystal clear, indistinguishable realities - i'm talking, NO chance in the slightest for our meager gray matter to differentiate under it's influence.

yess recreational is a halucanegenic drug (mind spelling). would u say the thing I have seen are stil side effects of the plant? all these years later? or that 'indistinguishable realities' mean halucinate or see another reality! it confuses me lol

I could be wrong, but I think he's saying it could have caused permanent brain damage. That might expalin why you "see" into other realities (aka things that are not there).

Sorry, I don't think I was very clear in my explaining.
In answer to your question, i'd say there's certainly the possibility of lasting effects from this type of exposure (in this case, organic toxin) especially if it occured during the cognative developmental stage.
What I mean by experiencing different realities is that under the influence, one can often be tricked into fully believing and acting out a reality that simply does not exist, in a place where they think they are at the moment. One could engage in hours of conversation with people whom were never even there. The problem is not only that they're intoxicated, it's that they no longer know they are and they're buying this current reality and making bad decisions, usually based on fear. Just a heads-up on dangerous Bella...

People,teenager's usually,will experiment with everything under the sun.Out here in the state's,there have been many cases' of kid's getting hold of jimson weed,also known as the Devil's Testicles.(cause the flowering part looks like a spiny ball) Anywho,most of the one's who survive the the mind altering trip arent quite "ok" for awhile.It can and does cause death,and the trip is terrifying.Just goes to show kid's will ingest anything.Geez,if you happen to pick and eat the wrong mushroom,it's over man.Moral of this story:Dont leave anything to chance when you have young one's around.And be aware...and no yer not a zombie.But brain damage,maybe not permanent,can happen.

If you ate a whole belladonna or chewed it as you claim you would not have been able to tell us about it because you would be dead. The contents within one leaf is enough to kill a full grown adult let alone a toddler.

Whatever you think you ate it certainly wasn't this plant because if you did you would be dead simple as that.

There are endless numbers of plants that can be fatal if eaten or in his case near fatal. There is simply no way a toddler would be able to handle the alkaloids known as tropanes contained within this plant well not the amounts contained within a leaf.

Either he ate something else to cause such a reaction or he's lying bottom line.

Belladonna actually has several medical applications well the chemicals contained within the plant do.

Indeed. I've heard about them using it to treat Parkinson's. Although I don't work in the neurological field it would make sense to me to use it this way because tropane inhibits the parasympathetic nervous system.

Anyway, back on topic here...
